Mother’s Day 2018

Another year another Mother’s Day, another wonderful photo opportunity. IMG_20180513_100702_967

We had church first. The younger 3 sang during service.20180513_110246

Then a great photo op on the bench out front. 20180513_110911

Our next stop was the normal photo haunt for us – the lane at the end of the road. It is a lovely spot in spring summer, and even occasionally fall. I do believe Gavin took the photos of Ken and myself. Oldest to youngest. 20180513_091450

We had our normal afternoon/evening on a Sunday and then the whole family was off to Chipotle. It was a lovely sunny day.20180513_183155

Honestly 5 of the best things in my life are the ones who call me Mom. Thank you Ken for being the other half of our parenting team. IMG_20180513_100838_335

Easter 2018

Well I missed sharing this event remotely close to the day as well. Oh well, enjoy the glance back.

Easter was a bit rough. I had a few sick kids the week before so there was question of us going anywhere or doing anything. But we managed.20180401_090035

In the morning we did the usual church service. Of course the girls had to have Easter clothes and dresses. Even the boys dressed in their Sunday best to make a nice showing. The twins also helped server Easter breakfast.20180401_093426

Of course we took tons of dressed up pictures! The rest are at the bottom of the post! (Zander is in white)20180401_081500

I had a chat with the Easter bunny and this year everyone got a book with their goodies. Big smiles for everyone there.20180331_225253

We then had our second Easter egg hunt of the season (we did a previous one end of March). The Novak’s were invited to a larger hunt and told to bring us along. It was quite the event with lots of amazing prizes. Everyone did rather well.20180401_161241

After the hunt it was time to go to the Novak’s for dinner. Good food, good friends… Snoopy! It was a great day. Family isn’t always blood related. Sometimes they are friends who you couldn’t imagine living without!20180401_171344

March Already! Woo!

Here I go, March 2018… catching up in a timely manner. YES! Or not… my fast and furious blogging took a hit with the much anticipated Karyn visit AND a semi surprise last minute Shauna and Jeff down from Canada weekend. And then life in general kicked my butt… but here I am.20180328_234601

So… March, what was March… it ended in Easter weekend. So we had our own little egg hunt in the house. The twins did the hiding for the younger 3.20180331_121040

We also decorated eggs.20180331_150916

And even made square ones!IMG_20180331_214359_802

The other “themed” day was St. Patrick’s Day. We had all sorts of green stuff going on.IMG_20180317_100926_312

I jumped all in on working on Irish and Celtic knots. I have purchased a few books and some lovely satin cord. Definitely a skill I need to find time in the fall to continue with.20180317_153021

I invested in some gorgeous reversible sari skirts which I can tell you NOW I wore ALL summer. There is something amazing about wearing bright colours and patterns that swish when you walk.

There was plenty of time spent at the YMCA, of course. I hope it has been at least somewhat fun for the staff to be such a major part of my kids’ growth and enjoyment!20180325_111909

I took a walk down memory lane and bought a Tamagotchi! If you don’t know what that is… well I won’t ask your age, cuz that could end up sad.IMG_20180323_215210_715

There was plenty of time spent petting the fluff that is the chinchilla.IMG_20180330_130357_717

And we did plenty of school.IMG_20180313_113943_664

Ken and I even snuck in some dinners out dressed to impress.IMG_20180316_224326_543

My final thought on this quick WAY belated peek back at March… WOW was my hair long!!! And that is that.20180308_141649
