The Black Hole That Is Our Home

Well we misplaced our SECOND nursing necklace in this blackhole of a house… but at least this time I KNOW it is Ken who had it last. He took the lion share of watching Emanuel last night. Over Sunday we misplaced the original one and then made a run to Walmart a couple days ago and bought beads… the one we made to replace it in shades of blue was even nicer and then this morning POOF I can’t find it!! Hopefully we can find it tonight cuz if we can’t tomorrow we have to go back to Walmart and get more beads ….
On a happier note – today marks 5 yrs of marriage for us! Tonight Ken is getting take out at one of the nicer restaurants and we are having a picnic on the floor in the livingroom 🙂

Slings, Sneezes and Rain Rain Rain

Well yesterday we found ourselves in the Walk-In-Clinic with Zander. He was rough housing and managed to sprain his left arm so the little man had to have tylenol and a sling for the night. Today he is right back to normal and I am just counting my blessings he did not smack his face on the rocking chair instead. The twins are such… boys!
All 5 of us are working on fighting through colds. Poor Emanuel is the worst off, eating wears him out and coughing seems to hurt a little. I have a sore throat and sneezes so I can only imagine how he feels. Tomorrow is his rescheduled Dr’s appointment – check up – so we shall see if the dr wants him on a cough medicine.
I would love to see some sun – sadly the weekend was rainy and then MONDAY was sunny. Today in the afternoon there was pouring rain and even a little thunder. Hopefully we will see the end of this monsoon soon. We still need to plan my birthday trip to the zoo after all!!!
I am going to make a mini photo gallery here of the baptism pictures. I am still waiting on my mom’s family and Esther to get back to me with the photos they took but I do have some wonderful shots and tomorrow I think we are going to try and get some decent pictures of Emanuel in his gown. The posed, gown spread out kind.
I am so wiped, last night the twins were up from 2-4 playing in their crib. Emanuel was cranky and Ken and I were both exhausted. Hopefully over the weekend I can get over this cold and get some naps in and maybe get back on track. We have our Anniversary on Friday and then Father’s Day on Sunday… busy busy.

A Daddy’s Girl Heart And Soul

I must say having my Daddy here though only for 4/5 dayswas glorious. We had dinner without the twins, shopping and lunch with the whole family, chatting and hugs and laughter – it was wonderful. He went back to South Carolina early this morning… I had my tears when we said good bye last night but even with the sadness of saying good-bye it was so amazing to have this time with him after 2 yrs apart.
The twins love him, Emanuel took to him instantly. We took a ton of pictures and made a whole bunch of new memories. I wish my step-mom and sister could have been here but I am still planning on taking Emanuel down there when Ken and I can find a way to afford it.
The baptism went well, he even SMILED through the whole thing. Friends and some of my mom’s family made it out and we had a lovely luncheon afterwards. I will have to sift through all the pictures and pick out some of the best to post here.
So though my father has gone back to SC I have gotten onto AOL to chat with my step-mom and sis and even my father. I am going to make a conscious effort to get in touch with them more. What a blessing those three are to me, my husband and my children.
