Pattern Posted and other Labour Day Nonsense

Labour Day was relatively quiet for our family though Emanuel and Ken went on a VERY important shopping trip! Tomorrow (except for nap and bedtime) Emanuel is going to wear BIG BOY UNDERWEAR! A very big step for him but he has been virtually accident free for around 2 weeks now! He is very proud and excited to wear them.

Last night I started something new on this site. If you click on the top link titled “Stitching Past and Present” there is a little blurb at the very top explaining about the patterns I am going to start posting, under that and the old bold text is my very first posted FREE pattern! (emphasis on the free and emphasis on the ownership of the image I reproduced) I am hoping to have another one up tomorrow night (maybe the Batman themed one I made for my sister in law for Christmas) as well as a paypal button. The intent being that people can donate if they feel so inclined or donate and request a pattern for me to make. I doubt any money will come of this but I figure if I can share something I enjoy so much and possibly help out Ken money-wise it is worth a shot! Anyway the first one is up and I am VERY happy with the look of it! HEre is a direct link!

More on my sewing – the Dr. Who piece is coming along nicely! I have finished the Tardus (which I am not sure if you can see the shades of blue to make a panelling look)  and the bottom text but am not going to post the final saying on my main page (I will, however post it as a free pattern later) as I don’t want the recipient to see it before I send it for Christmas. I am also planning on doing a Harley Davidson themed piece as well as something for a pharmacist! So be sure to keep checking back!

Today we painted more puzzle pieces – this time in the colour of each boys’ choosing (Gavin purple, Emanuel blue and Zander pink). These were then glued to a frame made out of popsicle sticks. This was suggested by one of my egroup friends! The plan is to glitter glue them tonight so that the boys can either leave as is or add rhinestones. Somehow I think they will want to add the rhinestones!

To give Ken a good taste of our ABC work he joined us  today to do the letter H. Houses and hats were drawn, puzzles made and heart shaped stickers stuck. In all the excitement we forgot to do our computer play so tomorrow we will do the letter I and then both letters on the computer.

For the first time this year we enjoyed a very special treat – Taber corn on the cob – steamed. All 3 boys had their own half cob and absolutely inhaled it. We were able to buy 12 cobs for 3.00 at H&W so there is enough for at least one more meal!

Bad news actually does seem to have come in 3 this weekend. Karyn called us last night to let us know she had been in a car accident – hit and run and apparently they are thinking her car is undriveable! And since it was a long weekend nothing can be done until Tuesday. So she was basically stuck at home today. Thankfully though sore she was not hurt. Now we just wait and see what the mechanics say.

Trinity got her first oatmeal applesauce cookie… and her second and third and on well until sixth or seventh. So far no tummy ache but there is only 1/2 cup of refined sugar for the entire 5 dozen. What is DOES mean is that I am going to have to make another batch of cookies really soon.

Tomorrow should be another relatively relaxed day. Ken has a doctor’s appointment and I have a couple of letters for him to mail for my Birthday Floss Club, but otherwise just our normal school stuff and then probably sewing and baking and whatnot. Hopefully the kids will be in the mood to co-operate!
