Hello Long Weekend

The weekend is here FINALLY and the weather is marvellous still. This bodes well for a walk to the park and maybe some kite flying this weekend if the wind is kind. It is hard  though, the weather is ALSO perfect for use of our Leisure Pass and a trip to the Fort or the conservatory… So if this continues and the van does not make an appearance next week I may just send Ken and the boys to enjoy the weather at the fort. That was our plan before we found out the van had a transmission problem.

Our goal for the upcoming week is to figure out how to get ourselves a Telus Science Centre pass for the family. We are right at the cut off for turning in receipts to our board and if we have left ourselves enough money I think it would be the best use of it. They have the Lego transportation exhibit in right now and I definitely want the boys to make it to that.

Our plans changed AGAIN today… no run to Public Health for Ken and Echo as Ken was (thankfully) busy at his computer (a VERY good thing). Instead we weighed her at home. I use this chart to map her growth at home. We have seen the difference personally between formula and breastfed babies when we switched our twins over out of necessity. It is amazing how many doctors seem to believe that you have to be in a certain percentile AND that all babies should grow the same! One of my personal beefs actually, as we have had 5 children now and all 5 have grown differently. The twins have always been gradual and consistent growers while Emanuel and Trinity have grown in spurts. They charts are VERY different if you plot it all out but they are ALL healthy! Miss Echo is just over 9lbs! If you can believe it!

This afternoon Ken and I (and Echo) took advantage of having a houseguest and headed out to The Mall to pick me out a new dress for the baptism – H&M AND on sale! Bonus!

The dress

While we were gone my mom and Mike stopped by – it is Mike’s birthday! They even dropped off Miss Echo’s costume! I will have to take some lovely pictures later. Shoeboxes, the IKEA brand melting beads and school stuff rounded off the special gifts and was a hot topic when we got home! As was the kitten my mom and Mike saved at the cabin and dropped off with their vet to find a new home. Makes me wish I could have a kitty again!

Tonight was a gaming night with he Chris and Ted to round off the numbers and pizza and wings. All in all a GREAT way to end our week. Now to make the weekend a good one!

All I need now is the pattern Ken owes me to get me going on that and I will REALLY feel productive!
