To Grandmother’s House We Go

I have to say when we decide to go for a day at my mom’s and leave EARLY (aka right after supper) we really seem to pack in even MORE activity. In fact, you can read Fat Sheep’s version of our activities on her blog entry here. We tried to leave by 9 and for once actually made it! BUT then we had to put air in a tire and TWO exits we needed to take were blocked! Then the McDonalds we usually stop at was closed for renovations so our little over 1 hour drive ended up taking us over an hour and a half. But we made it.

It has been some time since we have been to Grandma’s so the kids were VERY excited. Well most of them, Emanuel didn’t sleep much at all last night and fell asleep first on the floor and then later on one of the spare beds.

Gavin spent some time with Grandma’s “new Legos” and made something from the instructions on the box.

I got the chance to get some pictures of Echo on the floor, with Fat Sheep and with the little sheep (we are calling her Petite Sheepette) Chris and Chris gave her when they stopped by on Saturday. She actually spent some time smiling and giggling on the floor today. It was really her first time paying attention to her surroundings at Grandma’s!

Since we brought Fat Sheep along mom took the chance to measure her and make her a costume to wear to Chris and Chris’ wedding. It always amazes me how mom can just look at a piece of fabric and create something from scratch! This time just a piece of white cotton fabric and some ribbon… talk about amazing!!! (by the way MY dress is all done!!!!!)

We are planning on adding some daisies to the bow as well

After Emanuel’s first nap we took the eggs mom had boiled for Mike’s breakfasts and had the kids decorate them. The younger two did a couple each and then headed to the tub but the twins went all out playing around with colours and the wax crayons. This is just our first batch of eggs, we plan on doing them here and again at mom’s on Easter Sunday. Thank goodness we like eggs!

Echo supervised!

I really need to bring some of Ken's old ratty tshirts next time!

LOVE the bright colours

I finally figured out the trick to getting decent photos of Phoebe (mom’s dog). She is very shy and jumpy and we realized that it is the SOUND the camera makes that has her running so I muted it and BINGO. She recently had a haircut and looks so neat now! I love her nose especially – very schnauzer.

All clipped and tidy

Mike even got in on the Fat Sheep fun and took her out to the garage for a picture on the Harley!

Mom got her tattoo touched up – I think it looks AMAZING now and have to share her newest body art. My mom and Mike both have multiple tattoos… something I am really too freaked about needles to do! My mom loves bees and this one is too cute!

Tattoo!

I have spent some more time packing (the boxes in the livingroom are a GREAT incentive). I have started in on my least favourite room – the kitchen – the plan is to weed down the dishes which will cause us to have to do them more often and quicker BUT will make life easier in the long run. Thankfully we get a TON of flyers in the mail daily so it won’t be hard to wrap up the glassware.

I got some work done on my wedding sampler gift BUT I have so much still to do. I expect I will be up a bit later tonight just to get back on track with the schedule I have set up for it. I will share a picture tomorrow. Well a portion at least. I just need to focus but at the same time so many things need to be done at once!!!

HELLOOOOO Petite Sheepette!
