With Gifts and Cleaning and Fire and Marshmallows

Ok So Sunday was gift opening day… which was not without its drama. So I will start with the major drama – Karyn’s keys grew legs and walked away! So I am posting this picture of Victoria wearing them… if ANYONE found them please email me rosereinsch@gmail.com. She would LOVE to get them back!!!

Fat Sheep, Gavin, Victoria and around her neck - keep an eye out for these keys please!!!!

Ok so that set us back time wise. We were SUPPOSED to be back at the Legion by 11:30 but with hung over people, some vomiting and the missing keys… well we were late! Although I didn’t have to deal with the hung over or the vomiting personally! So eventually Echo, Esther and I headed out to the hall. The newly-weds had a great time opening their gifts. And now I can share what we all gave them – two hand painted goblets and a candy dish we made out of reclaimed items! All one of a kind (well two of a kind since the goblets match).

While that was going on and Jocelyn was already writing the gifts out I took whoever was willing to the back and started with the cleaning. We had to empty all the centrepieces of their contents and pack them up, gather up the bits and bobs and clean clean clean. Sadly it took WAY longer than I thought it would and we had to ditch our second trip to the splash park idea. But it all got done!

Umm cleaning?

There was a nice spread for those hungry and we were also able to take home (well send home via Victoria and Karyn) some of the left overs. After heading back to mom’s so that Jocelyn could pack up and bits and bobs be collected we said good-bye to the bulk of the party guests. Mike was more than willing to head off to pick up Karyn’s spare key with our friend Lauralee so once that came back she and Victoria headed out as well. With Cousin Veronika and Esther on their way that left Ted and Sean and our family. So we all packed up and went out to mom and Mike’s cabin for marshmallows, hotdogs and of course – campfire.

Why have hot dogs when you can start with the marshmallows... ok JUST eat marshmallows? And since I am the mommy I CAN

Mike and the kids made a backless bench and the rest of us sat quietly and discussed the weekend. Sean was an absolute prince and held Echo the entire time! She is utterly in love with him of course (and him with her).

That left returning home and seeing off the guys and then bed for the family. As, of course, the next BIG trip was on Monday – JASPER and POCAHONTAS CABINS… which just happened to be over 5 hours away!!!! OUCH! Literally – onward and upward and more on that next entry!
