Hooligan Bear: A Special Day…

Here is another joint review of an advanced copy book for kids. This one is about bears so of course everyone was interested! As usual, here are the kids’  thoughts on the book first and then my summary and suggestions! Enjoy!

Trinity: It had little bears that were so small and so cute. I loved them. And they went to the bakery on a window…

Emanuel: It was a cool book. I liked the bears because they are so little.

Gavin: I liked the characters because they looked cute. I thought the story was good.

Zander: My favourite part was the button. I liked the book.

And now it is my turn. A Special Day from the Hooligan Bear series by Ian Toynton was a fun read for our family. The illustrations are very sweet, the characters endearing and the premise fun. There is something magical and special about little bears living on a factory shelf, especially when you give them tiny outfits and a life of their own.

In A Special Day it is Little Louie’s very first birthday. This story goes through how they make the day truly special for this tiny bear. Including an adventure at a nearby bakery. I think this book is a great family read but also fun for a young solo reader. We are definitely going to have to hunt down more in this very enjoyable and heart warming series!
