November Already???

Halloween was actually quite fun for the kids… they stopped at Grandma Anna’s before heading off to the city and then after some shopping we spent the evening over at Alan and Xinny’s. The kids played and had a great time and we had a really good visit and Emanuel – well he was dressed up as a COW! and even better – to match though not planned – Isabella was a COWgirl! hehe. Instead of treats we got each of the 3 older kids a matchbox car and Emanuel some blocks. It really was much more fun than taking the kids out in the cold weather we have had lately!
We are at the halfway point of Ken’s week off. It has been so nice to have him home. Tonight we had a date with Emanuel there of course and went to Saigon Rose Noodle House. Rather pricey – for the two of us it was about 35.00 Cdn. The food was SO GOOD and definately worth it though a once every couple of months sort of special treat.
Tomorrow is Ken’s raid night as usual. So hopefully we can get a little more cleaning done before he gets started. So much to do and so little town. We plan on spending Friday doing fun things as a family – going out in the snow in the twins’ brand new snowsuits… playing, etc. After Emanuel’s dr’s appointment of course – we got so caught up in our cleaning on Monday that we missed the twins’ speech appointment, Ken is trying to get ahold of the therapist. There was no appointment last week.
Ok so now that it is November we HAVE TO get our Christmas shopping done, I am planning on giving mainly cards – the ones we got taken at Walmart but there are some gifts. With Emanuel being full term he should be much more into opening presents than the twins were at his age. So I want to get them lots of little cheaper gifts to fill their stockings and then a big gift each, though we are going to have to give Emanuel his walking toy before Christmas. It would not be such a big deal except Emanuel’s party for his 1st birthday is on the 3rd of February so we need to be realistic. The twins are having their 3rd birthday party on April 15th – their projected due date just this once so that Emanuel can have at least ONE birthday on his own. I have to work on getting his theme and ornaments figured out. I don’t know how many people will make it to his party but we will make it fun… take lots of pictures and be sure he feels loved as that is the point – right? I just like to have everything done and out of the way way early – just like in college. LOL
Emanuel had his first banana today – mixed in with rice cereal. He loved it. I just blended it in the blender and mixed them together. I hope that I can make most of his baby food… we are rather conservative with adding new foods but the twins have excellent appetites and eat so many different things so we must be doing SOMETHING right.
