Yes, plural! I was lucky enough to be invited to 2 baby showers this summer… one with the gender known, the other not. Shandai and Ravyn were celebrating their upcoming baby at Ravyn’s parent’s house. A new cousin for my 5! They are pumped, mainly Trinity and Echo. But, a new family member is always cause for excitement. 

I made sure to make baby something special. Though MANY of my fair pieces were also slated to go to baby. 

The other shower we were invited to was also a first baby… baby girl! Of course, as I get closer to current you will see pictures of the little darling. Darcy hosted, so of course we came early to help (it was a last minute venue move). The guys made themselves scarce until it ended and the kids had a blast outside. 

As with my new unknown darling, I made baby girl a little something something as well. Both sets of gifts were well received which warms this crafter’s heart. 

Anyway – keep an eye peeled for the baby pics later. Darcy has been very sweet about sharing her time with Sophia’s baby with me. 

March is a special month – within the span of a week my brother AND my father have their birthdays. I will warn  you now… March was photo heavy!! And VERY delayed… but better late than forgetting all about the blog and giving up on it… right?

Our trend of almost every evening at the YMCA has continued. I think we are really taking full advantage of our membership right now.

Ken and I spent more than a few weekends with an evening at the indoor soccer games.

Some of those nights Aidan and Alex joined our kids to avoid having to go watch.

We spent some fun time with the Schwartz family.

Of course there was plenty of school going on.

We had a tiny bit of snow to enjoy.

We had a bit of a fashion show month.

The completions in class just keep on coming.

And I found time for some baking.

Don’t forget about St. Patrick’s Day!

Or our monthly Pizza Hut.

The sunroom has finally warmed, with the help of the new portable fireplace and a tidy room we have really been enjoying the space.

We finished up a redecorate on Emanuel’s room!

We also put up improved clothing rods for the girls!

I got in lots of crocheting time.

And found a yarn that reminded me of a famous painting.

Snuck in a cross stitch pattern – a birthday gift for my mom!

And after making them at Cluby, Trinity helped me make some knotted blankets for our sunroom chairs.

Spent some time at church.

It was great to spend time with friends who are family.

And just straight out family! 

Ken and I snuck out for our own time together too.

All while we played and learned and kept ourselves busy!

 

 

Our Easter was more of an Easter weekend. Just chock full of fun and activity. So much so that we were burned out and exhausted for school on Monday!

On Saturday all my hard work of stuffing Easter eggs was put to good use. We spent the morning at the YMCA. Well, some of us did. The door on the van was left ajar and the battery dead. So in between Ken smoking Sunday’s ham at the Schwartz’s (thanks so much for the loan of your smoker) I took Gavin, Echo and Trinity to the YMCA. Gavin and Trinity for club and Echo for swimming with Mommy.

Once the van was jumped and filled back up with kit and kids we headed off to visit our very amazing homeschool friends. Aimee had set up a rather amazing egg hunt all over their woodsy yard.

We played, watched a movie, ate wonderful food and snacked happily while we visited. It is such an easy situation on all adults involved as the kids really do entertain themselves. Aimee and I even ducked out to Walmart to pick up a few things.

That had us home in the evening and into bed so that we could be fresh and pressed for Easter service. Trinity even had her first communion! Everyone clapped for her when they were told before service.

The girls had their usual fancy hats and new dresses. I think we all cleaned up rather nicely.

We had Easter baskets and goodies from the Easter Bunny to enjoy.

We did our yearly photos, of course.

After church it was back to packing up the van and heading over to the Novak’s for dinner and ANOTHER egg hunt.

We had so much fun there, as always. And it was ANOTHER day of easy supervision on the adults.

It was a wonderful way to celebrate with friends who have become family. I don’t think we could have had a better plan… well except for having the battery in the van die.
