Well this should have been posted ages ago!! Oops! Happy WAY belated birthday to my double digits girl. I know I shared this on Instagram and Facebook but the blog must share as well!
On April 26th Trinity turned 10! Where has the time gone? We got her a rather funky and fun cup cake and cake Hello Kitty cake.
It matched perfectly with many of her Hello Kitty themed presents. Including some rather sweet doll furniture from her Aunty Holly, Uncle James and Cousin Jimmie. Don’t forget the grandparent phone calls. Lucky girl.
She chose her own outfit. Pink, pink and more pink!
Though she later changed into her new (Hello Kitty themed) sweater and we walked down the street for some fun 5 kid pictures. Boy are they growing up!
Youngest to oldest
Trinity was over the moon. This year her birthday fell on a Thursday so she also got to go to karate for her birthday!
For dinner we take the birthday kid (or kids if it is the twins) to a mom and dad only dinner. This year Trinity went big with a fancy burger at the Tavern!
Good food takes time, so we brought her DS and her new game!
The next day Renee and I took the two girls on a girls only adventure. 5 Guys for lunch.
Then off to an accessory store for some serious browsing and shopping, all finished up at a rather fancy cupcake store.
Trinity told me it was a pretty amazing birthday. Double digits sure looks good on this girl! She is growing up so fast! Happy Birthday revisited darling girl!
Our youngest is a full on school age kid now! Where has the time gone? Yup, Miss Echo is officially 7 as of Sunday, August 13th. My Friday the 13th baby.
We actually had a rather fun weekend for her. Saturday was a trip to the Science Museum to see the Pixar exhibit (not that she enjoyed that all that much, so many other things to see). We went with our homeschool buds. It was fun. Expensive (the exhibit was an add on, which was annoying since we got memberships to AVOID that), but there was things to see and do that we hadn’t seen or done before.
It was nice to get out and run around and enjoy ourselves before heading back.
Before that we had spent an hour at the YMCA to swim and play.
Saturday NIGHT we had cousin Robbie over. Which is always exciting for the whole family. He is a family favourite after all.
Sunday morning we slept in a little… well some of us did. Before packing up Echo and going to take pictures out by the local library. We were going to do it at the flower beds but people were busy weeding so we improvised.
After pictures it was picking up the much anticipated cake! Then preparing everyone to head out the the birthday girl’s restaurant of choice – a McDonald’s with a play area. This was a total homeschool buds weekend as they joined us too.
Since it was a rainy day we had to table the beach plan and instead head over to our house for cake and presents.
After all that fun it was off to the YMCA for her swim lesson. Add in calls from Grandma and Nana and Baba and I think little miss had an absolute blast.
To top it off – she lost her first tooth!!! It was quite the milestone weekend!!!
9 years old, where has the time gone? April 26th marks Trinity’s turning 9. As we do with all the kids now, she got to plan her day.
We started off with pictures in the pretty dress we picked up for her that week at Sam’s Club.
Then it was a packed lunch and just us 3 girls off to the YMCA for some swimming. I opted to watch and take pictures from the sidelines, but the girls had the pool virtually to themselves. We had toyed with the idea of the girls spending a bit of time in the daycare while I worked out but when we went in it was a mad house of noise and babies.
After swimming was our picnic lunch in the lobby. Complete with a snack from the “snack machine”.
We brought our electronics of choice to use while we relaxed for the last of our girls’ morning out. Quiet, calm and exactly as Trinity requested.
Trinity chose all 3 of our outfits, actually!
Our afternoon was spent school free (another request) after a tiny bit of basic work, and relaxed on my bed.
Dinner was a daddy daughter only special time at Culver’s (lucky daddy!). It is one of her favourite places to eat.
Of course she opened presents! And had calls (video and phone) with grandparents. (Nana and Baba and Grandma Anna) Special thanks to Aunty Karyn, Aunty Holly and family and Gammie for mailing in special treats… it was a Pusheen themed event in the end! And without planning!

Thank you Gammie!
Cake was homemade from a Duff box mix and a hit all round. Made by DADDY!
All in all a happy birthday! 9 years in the making.
