Stuff…

Organization, careful planning… comfort words for yours truly! And so I start NOW planning for next week. So far our plans have us in the city for Echo’s follow up appointment on the 25th, then to another friend’s to visit and enjoy some different faces while we wait for comic con on the 27th… AND if Holly heals up ok and is alright with 3 little boys being at her beck and call and playing with her son a visit with my little brother and his family as well as time with Kathy, celebrating Trinity’s birthday AND finally getting last year’s birthday present – said comic con adventure! Of course Alaskan Sock Monkey and Petite Sheepette will be in tow. Fat Sheep is simply TOO BIG for this one!

Today was a bit of a slow day (OMG a pattern is emerging!) but we had some high points… crafting ensued when we had an internets issue! There was a couple of birds, a ladybug and some sort of silly monster. We plan on saving these ones for our new place! As well as Gavin’s tornado he made earlier.

Crafty

I brought out the special travel marker set I got at Staples when we bought the iPad and let Trinity create something bright and shiny today as well. She does love to draw pictures, if it was not for Echo tearing them off the fridge here as fast as she makes them  I am not sure Chris and Chris could even get into it.

Trinity at work

I made up a banana cream pie mix FINALLY today… I think it turned out pretty nice!

PIE

Ken took the 4 bigguns out to run at the park this evening before supper too… what a treat! Daddy time and a park!

Running to the park

Tonight it is time to bring the glue gun back out… I will have bows to share tomorrow!! And then bed so we can assess the day’s schedule according to the time that Ken is given to go test drive the second van option. Please send out positive thoughts and prayers that this one will suit us! We need this all decided as quickly as possible to fit the full end of month schedule we are facing!

Look who found the bunny ears!!

Easter Saturday Tradition Reign Supreme

One of our family traditions has been maintained… we are officially ensconced at Grandma and Grandpa Mike’s house for the rest of Easter weekend! Thanks to Chris and Chris for the loan of their newly repaired (brakes) van we were able to make the 1 1/2 hour drive here. The kids are ecstatic, there is enough room for speed AND a Gypsy here to play with. We can only stay until Monday (they need the vehicle back for the work week) but we are tentatively planning to visit again once Ken purchases us a new old van.

The ever growing Gypsy

But first, our Saturday day… With Chris (he) off to fix the brakes at a co-worker’s the rest of us had the time and eggs to do some decorating! Just a simple kit but we added our box of crayons to the mix to make some lovely coloured eggs!

So many pretty eggs

But before that I dressed the girls up in their Easter dresses, bunny clip and of course the bunny ears and took pictures!!!! Any excuse to dress them up and photograph right?

I also tried my first peep today… blame Chris and Chris for the picture… seriously!

You try looking pretty with a peep shoved in your mouth :P

We find out next week if our rental is ready… if I can get my PO number for the iPad and if we can get a van picked out… that makes this weekend special as we can enjoy it knowing the rest of the month is going to be packed full of exciting new steps toward normality. Happy almost Easter everyone!

Better Than Monday

In order to bring myself back up from the utter failure of Monday to complete ANYTHING I stayed up a bit later and did finish sewing the sash on Echo’s flowered dress… I plan on playing around with some ribbon and making a bow as well. I was toying with making it brown as well but think a splash of colour may be nice.

Just needs a bow

Luckily I set aside my ribbon box and marked it pink so I have it here. I am supposed to do a craft table on the 9th of June as part of a charity drive a friend is putting on. I have to donate a door prize and 10% of my sales… I figure to fill a table I will ask other friends to add their crafts and since it is in the same city as my mom I have a place to stay AND someone to pimp my stuff around town BEFORE the sale! BUT that means that in order to NOT loose a ton of time due to this move I need to stay productive in April. I have been making some owls out of Easter socks and plan to collect other socks through out the month to add to my stash (seriously, if you have some lonely socks laying around that are not horribly stained and worn send them my way!!).

I also remembered to set aside Easter clothes for the kids so even if my plans fall through I CAN take them outside in their pretty outfits and photograph them. I really have missed playing with photography. I think I am going to try and every 2 weeks do some serious attempts at it. I still need to do the boys’ yearly pictures… but I think I will wait til it is warm so we can do outside shots this year!

Today it was Zander’s turn for a special outing. We FINALLY managed to get the boy together WITH his glasses out to Lens Crafter where they put on new nose pieces, straightened them, fixed the arms so they are a wee bit longer (growth spurt!) and cleaned them for him. Then we stopped at A&W for lunch and then DOLLARAMA. Spoiled boy!

Lucky boy

Actually Chris (she), myself AND Zander got our glasses adjusted. And at Dollarama we took our time perusing the merchandise. I picked up some paper (newsprint style but paper all the same), some Easter themed stickers, an egg dying kit (in case of cancelling Grandma’s) AND the cutest ears EVER!

Can you believe only a dollar!

The boys worked on our thank-you card for the people involved in Echo’s surgery. All of the kids signed it, I just need to write my own thank you in. And hopefully add a picture of Echo as well. We are still working on our math, writing and reading. I am limited as my printer is in storage as is the bulk of my school supplies but we are making do.

Echo had an accident today, she managed to get away from us and down the stairs with a piece of paper which she some how slipped on and smacked her head on the stairs… hard stairs of course. I think Mommy and Daddy were more upset than she was. 15 min or so with a cold cloth to her head and she was screaming to go again. She had a bit of a goose egg and a bruise by her eye but seems to be alright.

Poor baby :(

Oh and I have to share my breakfast for today – ok NOT the most healthy but TOTAL noms!

Oreo!

In fact, today has been a MUCH better day… I finished 2 more owl bodies… we fixed THREE pairs of glasses… AND I won something on Facebook! I just need to figure out how to get my hands on it since they are in the city we used to live in and we are here without a vehicle. Here’s hoping the trend continues!
