Dressed Up and Photographed

August 9-11

Trinity is on a roll with ANOTHER completion of her PreK books! I am so glad she is grabbing on and getting going with these. I do not like to move them forward until they get that previous year’s work completed. After all review is ALWAYS good.101_4029

I love that even on an overcast day or during a down period the kids will sit down and work together lately… Gavin and Trinity read through our National Geographic Kids animal cards!101_4030

Of course Echo is always game for a book with good pictures… this is the dinosaur book that later one of the twins read to Emanuel and then worked on a picture for his dinosaur binder. It is almost time to bring that out of its hibernation and get back going… I really need to work on posting all our back dino blog entries too!!!101_4031

101_4032The weekend was sunny so we grabbed as much of it as we could.101_4035

Dino dig!

Dino dig!

And when it was time to go inside we had a craft symposium around the round table.101_4041

101_4042Then back outside to shuck corn! Nana and Baba found a little stand with some rather tasty ears.101_4046

Our weekend ended with us finally making it to a new church that is going to be our church family until we settle on our location and new home. Time to register for Sunday School!! Sadly we won’t make it to the church again until Sunday School sign up but it was fun to meet some new people and get a feel of a service.101_4047

After church we drove home and stopped at this lovely walking path at the end of our street to take our yearly photos. I do so love when we get a chance to dress ALL of them up and take pictures. So enjoy the surplus images!101_4051

What a Week!

June 27-28

Well after the excitement of the zoo and seeing their buddies we had to have journal time… Emanuel and Trinity did amazing nature journal pictures. Though Trinity’s was an imagination picture based on animals she saw.101_2885

101_2887We had our paperchain to make in vibrant red, white and blue…101_2886

The sunroom just seems to be a wonderland for the kids to do their schoolwork in. A nice change from being in the basement.101_2890

So we continued our Independence Day learning…101_2891

And had another rather enjoyable dino dig session.

So much unearthed

We checked out Nana’s flowers on her trellis. Purple and pink and lovely!photo (82flower)

We had ice cream sandwiches.101_2898

…and I finally got together the necessary supplies to make Trinity her own Relax Bottle/Time Out Timer… I have to admit we are all soothed by the gentle movement of the glitter… you can find the instructions HERE thanks to My Crazy Blessed Life!101_2899

The girls even took a walk with Sean and Ken.101_2902

Friday brought a continuation on the same learning path in the same sunny room…101_2906

101_2905Ken managed a half day with time to work on the playset.101_2911

While the kids drew and created their own amazing art on our paper roll.101_2909

The masterpiece

There has been some nice progress on the playset… AND Ken finally put up the carset on the wall.101_2928

And we got a special package in the mail. The beginnings of coin collecting with Gammie!101_2925

So we ended our week working on much the same as we started… but progress on all fronts AND a special day right in the middle.101_2913

ZOO… I Mean What Else Needs to be Said?

June 25-26

We started our Tuesday with the rather fun activity of making paper fans… we took rectangular pieces of white paper (in hindsight cardstock may have been a better choice) and drew Independence Day themed pictures… fireworks, flags, etc. We then used an accordion fold and stapled it at the base. Another idea out of one of our books. But something I remembered making as a child myself! Fun!!101_2774

July 4th themed!

July 4th themed!

We had a Lego magazine come in the mail (we have a couple of their free subscriptions). This was geared at the younger group so the 3 littles sat down and enjoyed it together.101_2782

Gavin was totally in the puzzle mood. We got some lovely new ones in our latest package from Gammie!101_2783

We played around with some different brands of bubble soap. Sadly still not as good as the machine’s brand!

Got some sun though

There was a little time for a dino dig as well! But we kept it rather sedate as Wednesday was a day with a big plan!101_2791

THE ZOO!!! We made plans to meet up with Steven and Quinn, and then once Bree got done work and such we added in Lily and mom.101_2818

101_2826101_2846We had sun, rain and fun in the rain! It was terrific!

Ken got to relive a bit of his childhood and made a plastic mold in one of the machines they have around the zoo. We made a gorilla. The plan is to get a different one each visit.101_2847

101_2848101_2879I am just so pleased… Ken’s anniversary present got here as well! A special t-shirt based on a saying I saw on a Grumpy Cat picture off Facebook. He was well pleased!!!101_2881
