A Christmas story by Elly Griffiths, Ruth’s First Christmas Tree was a lovely short novella out of a series of books centered around one Ruth Galloway. Single mom of a darling infant – Kate.  Head of Forensic Archaeology at the University of North Norfolk, she is dealing with Christmas as best she can… shopping for a tree, dealing with the inevitable Christmas office party… running into the father of her child with his wife. 

There is a mini mystery connected to a missing piece of a wooden stone henge she had helped unearthed in a previous book. There is a touch of magic, some interesting characters and a wonderful heroine who is determined to create a special Christmas for her darling Kate. I think this is another series I am going to have to take a peek at at a later date!
