Sunshine and Puppy Dogs

Today the twins’ harnesses came in the mail, they are adorable – puppy backpacks. They loved wearing them though on our walk did not seem to understand that they did not have to hold Daddy’s hand. After their baths they wanted them right back on LOL
The weather is definately spring-like. We have windows opened all over the apartment. I did wear the chest carrier when we went on out walk with Karyn. I forgot how much I hated the way it distributes the weight of the baby… hopefully over the rest of the week and weekend we can work out the sling. I am just itching to be able to get out on my own. Ken is supposed to go talk to our landlord about getting that door keyed so we can leave our double stroller on the main floor without interferring with the main entrance or having the stroller out in the open. After all our front door is not always pulled all the way shut so that the lock catches.
I have been feeling a little stressed today. I called Family Allowance once again and still not correction has been made, so once again no cheque this month. Add to that healthcare calling wanting their back money that we did not pay before as we were attempting to work out heathcare through Ken’s work… their money is the income tax return GST took from us as a result of the mistak with Family Allowance. I honestly feel like a huge idiot having screwed up the forms. Ken is thinking of trying to contact a supervisor since it seem so odd we cannot get any direct info beyond they are processing it… UGH I know it will all work out… but still… so frustrating.
Tomorrow is our twin group and then Friday the twins’ hearing tests… then the following week the MRI… the end of the appointments is in sight.
Now if I could just get the apartment clean – we so need a bigger place!

1-2-3 Melt Down

I swear with spring comes a behavior change in my twins. Today was a stressful one… Ken and I definately have to refine our schedule and work on keeping the weekends in line with the weekdays. Thankfully Ken was able to come home at lunch and work from home this afternoon.
We started the day rather rockily – the twins soaked their cribs so almost everything needed to be washed, and it turned out I had only ONE clean cribsheet so doing laundry right away was imperative. Of course there was someone else in the washing machine and loads of half done and done laundry all over the laundry room so I had to wait a bit to get mine in. Then Ken let the boys down with teeth unbrushed and cookies in hand… so I had to have him take back the cookies and brush teeth. MELT DOWN! He left for work and the baby actually slept for a bit but the twins ended up waking him up… they preceeded to get into fights and try and break rules with increasing frequency until I called Ken and asked him to be home in time to help with lunch. Then straight to bed with the twins. Emanuel even was kind enough to pass out after letting me take some sweet pictures in his all blue outfit (my fav colour and one of his best). Ken is going to touch it up as one of his eyes was open a crack (see end of email). The poor boys were then woken up after a couple hours by a fire alarm test UGH so early to bed tonight.
So Easter has come and gone and now Mother’s Day and Father’s Day are coming up. Ken and I were looking at t-shirts online for him for Father’s Day. We found some he liked but I also found a couple for Emanuel hehe. Ken’s favorite for Emanuel was this one.. I think the plan is to order it and either ship it here directly or check and see if Ken’s folks are sending more stuff up here and have them add it to the package. I have been doing some online searching for bras too – I do not know if I mentioned that or not, but I am rather excited about finding nursing bras with larger cup sizes and small band sizes that ship FOR FREE to Canada! Bras are never inexpensive for me so the prices are actually very reasonable. I just have to get Ken to measure me so we can get a true idea as to what size I need and then order them. I got THIS LINK from a livejournal group I joined called Thirty-Two D that I was given the heads up on through an online comic I love to read called Wapsi Square… an excellent online cartoon I would suggest most anyone read. I should make a short list of all my favorite webcomics. I read a ton of them, most of which update frequently.
I think for Mother’s Day I would love some new links for my Italian Charm Bracelet. So far I still have just one link saying Mom. But we will see what Ken decides to do for it.

HAPPY EASTER!

CHRIST IS RISEN HALLELUJAH!! HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!
Home safe and sound, the twins are asleep as is Emanuel in my lap. We had a luncheon at my mom’s after church. It went rather well until the twins hit meltdown. They REALLY needed a nap. Emanuel actually allowed other people to hold him, relaxing very nicely with his Great Aunt Janice.
The twins got really neat collector cars – an SUV and a res sports car from their Great Uncle Wayne. We did take them out of the box and the boys had a blast playing with them. Grandma Anna (my mom) gave them micro machines (what my brother calls dinky cars) and each of the boys a hanging toy bag ans a couple sleeping bunny toys. Great Aunt Janice, Great Uncle Greg and one of their daughters (Elizabeth) were there too… they gave all three of the boys puppies with bunny ears lol.
Church was wonderful for me  Emanuel slept almost the whole time. Ken had his hands full with the twins. We did all make it up for communion though.
I must say, I am glad that this coming week all we have to worry about is a Twin Group meeting (Wednesday) and the twins’ hearing tests (Friday). Perhaps we will have a more "normal" week. Back on schedule… that is once Ken and I sit down and discuss our schedule. He is too lax as compared to how I run the house during the day. I think that if I can get us on the same page I can get the twins back into the habit of listening to me when I cannot get up and chase them down.
It was nice to have Emanuel meet his Uncle James, they even go in a little cuddle! It was a weekend of first meetings – Great Grandma, their Uncle, Great Aunts and Uncles (only one Great Aunt, Great Uncle and 2 cousins were missing). That leaves my Dad’s family for him to meet. Hopefully in May…
I do wish the weekend was another day longer… Ken is back to work tomorrow…BAH
