Home Sweet Home

We are back home safe and sound now. Instead of staying at mom’s until after dinner after a VERY horrid night of the twins screaming about home and daddy I chose to go out and run some errands – copying at Staples, some groceries at Superstore and take the kids home to nap. We got drive through at MacDonalds – breakfast and then home. Emanuel had a nice sleep basically from the time we got home until some time after 1. Zander got up after 3 and here it is 4 and Gavin is still asleep! Zander has suggested cheese sandwiches so I am making grilled cheese for their supper. Thank goodness Ken gets home late tonight so at least TOMORROW evening he will be home.
I am so feeling the lack of sleep and being the "one in charge" add to that their worse than normal behavior and the frustration of so much stuff going on and no time to do it and I am DONE.
I did get a burst of energy when I got home and cleaned the kitchen table, the tv stand and the bathroom. I put away all but the last load of laundry put away – my mom dropped off some later this afternoon, I also got all our bits and pieces we took to mom’s put away. I still need to put the twins’ fan back – something they were VERY upset about at naptime though it was still at mom’s as well as do some more minor tidying. I want to get a good start on the cleaning I feel will help with our clutter. Yesterday I also paid our next month for the storage unit and have alerted the rental agent that my mom will be paying rent for us on Thursday – still well in time. I am still waiting on my eBay purchase though I received and absolutely lovely package from my UK buddy Cheryl! I love getting "nice" mail.
I got some sewing done at mom’s but still have a bit to go before I can add the backstitching to my baby gift for the den Otter’s upcoming. My cousin Amber is due any day now too. I also have the two books I picked up at the used bookstore to read. So I am thinking a nice soak after the boys are in bed – if they go easily, if not I will have to stay out to supervise and then go right to bed so fingers crossed.
Well not much more to recount. Just a definite need for some rest and relaxation, the past few days have been anything but!!!

Hanging out at Grandma’s House

The boys and I are enjoying our time at my mom’s though the twins are so not willing to settle down and nap! Their bed is in the livingroom area so not enclosed and dark so they are having nothing to do with it. Emanuel is onto his 3rd nap – he slept on our walk to get slurpees and then at 11:30 and then back down at 2:45 or so… he is not sleeping long but at least he is sleeping. Of course he was up at 6 am and the twins soon after. Though I caught a nap on their bed while mom did her dishes and the boys ate breakfast.
We took the can back to Midas… driving us from home to Superstore and then to mom’s the van acted up and the engine light came on. Well they drove it around and checked it again and I guess what is wrong is the van’s computer is not recognizing the new part yet and since they are not the dealership they cannot restart the computer. Basically we just need to drive around until it figures it out or something. So tomorrow morning we will do a little running around.
Gavin is still acting out and Zander is super sensitive to no’s and criticism right now. Emanuel is seeming to be fine, though tired and a little cranky but that could be teething or a growth spurt. Yesterday evening they had a blast in the sandbox with NEW sand and in the wading pool. Tonight mom’s sig. other Mike is hoping to get the bq built so we can have hamburgers and steaks. Tomorrow I am hoping to get the kids out and worn out. I have even decided that on Wednesday we are going to take a second walk after naps (which today has reinforced the need for!) and maybe take the balls out to a grassy spot. I am going to see if I cannot get the boys out more since the next two days the weather should be ok. Course Thursday it is back to 30’s (cel) so we will have to stay home in the afternoon. That morning we have the twins’ hearing tests – FINALLY! I am really hoping it will not come down to tubes, they do see to be reacting normally to sounds… but who knows!
So Ken gets home late Tuesday night not Wednesday YAY… though he still needs to go to work on Wed/Thu/Fri. which is going to be hard with the boys only seeing him in the evenings. They are going to go wild when the long weekend comes on Friday evening – 3 days with Daddy! Though we do have alot of stuff to get done. Cleaning, arranging, prep for the coming week and working on finding us a bigger place. I have big plans… but they can be done in small steps. Feels great!
I am feeling a little worn still… I just need to have Ken back… the security of having him at home to deal with the tough stuff always helps, plus the boys are definitely different when he is around. Funny how much of an impact one person can have!
Well this is supposed to be my sewing time so back I go! Just thought I would update!

Half Way

Well last night actually went relatively well.. the boys fought bed a bit but Karyn, Kathy and my friend Bren all called for a chat! I did sit down and do some more stamping, even made a very simple card.
Zander was up at 11:45 trying to convince me he was done going to bed… and then Emanuel was up by 6am even though I kept him up later! The twins by 7… So I am exhausted and the boys are ALL in bad moods. I put Emanuel down for a nap this morning but had to wake him up by 10am with the hopes he will nap in the afternoon.
Ken, the bugger got to stay in a hotel room last night with AC!! He so owes me! I have also come up with a plan for Ken to follow to get this house stuff better organized and his time more efficiently used. I have decided when Ken gets back he should be rested – if he is not well then he did not use his vacation properly… so we are going to box up our clutter and put it in my mother’s basement. I have big plans.
Tonight mom comes and gets us, I am already taking so much stuff I am thinking I will most  likely NOT take the laptop. Instead I am going to focus on my sewing and play with my DS lite. I just need to get a nap in, I am so incredibly tired… and the boys’ behavior is getting worse so there is more yelling and we are no longer down to our one spanking per day. I am just keeping positive that Ken’s return will improve that!
So off to finish packing and send the boys down to nap… they are so NOT gonna want to go!
