Home Home on the Prairies…

Maybe the odd deer but antelope hmmm not likely lol…(dadadaa range…song right?)
When we landed it Minnesota it was SNOWING and when we got out of the Edmonton airport I was glad Emanuel and I had kept our sweaters out of our luggage. Emanuel did VERY well on the flights home, though I will be sure to leave more than 45 min between flights. 2hrs was too long but with the 45min I had to go across the aiport and then basically get on the next plane – hard on the baby with no time to stretch but he made it through.
The big boys seemed happy to see us… I guess they had a very busy week. I did come home to a messy house but it was still nice to be home. A part of me would love to stay in South Carolina and be a Daddy’s girl forever in person but I feel so lucky to have had the time with him and the rest of the family I did have. Now I just have to sift through pictures for websites and scrapbooks and write down all the wonderful firsts we had down there, time to get caught up in the baby book.
Emanuel was up at 6am this morning since that is 8am the time he is used to… I am a wee bit worn out today. Weepy and out of sorts of course – lack of sleep and saying good bye to your Daddy does that to a girl. I will try and get a bunch of pictures up on this site very soon – in a new album of course.
So it is good to be home BUT the weather is so not as nice here. I guess we will just have to use our love to stay warm ??? LOL

Home We Go

Time to pack up and go home. Last load of laundry is in the dryer, and I am virtually packed and ready to go. It has been a wonderful holiday – busy – with loads of sight seeing and DELICIOUS food. Emanuel and I have done quite well out of our home environment, but I think I am ready to go home now. I will miss dad and my stepmom and sis but I think Emanuel and I are in need of our 3 other boys.
So I get on the plane at 8:45 am SC time and get home just after 1pm Mountain time. 2 flights again… fingers crossed and prayers said Emanuel is as lovely as last time.
Talk to you all soon…

Fall Colours in North Carolina

We are back in Rock Hill today. Emanuel, Jamie (stepmom) and I stayed in the mountains for an extra day and a half so we could take Kathleen to her MRI Sunday night. Dad caught a ride back to Rock Hill Saturday afternoon so he could be at work Monday. It was really too bad he could not have stayed but I did have a great visit with Jamie and Kathleen.
Fall colours were amazing up in the mountains and Monday we had some lovely weather. Jamie and I took Monday to do some shopping. It is hard to believe that I only have today and tomorrow until I have to go back home. While it will be great to see the twins and Ken again I do feel a great deal of sadness with the idea of having to say good-bye to my dad again. I just know I WILL cry. But I am so glad I got this time with him. Hopefully from now on I can plan a visit at least every 2nd year.
While up in the mountains we stayed at this wonderful cabin – when dad left for home he took – by accident the keys to the cabin … we were at the college soccer game and when we decided to get packed up to go back Jamie noticed she did not have the keys and then we noticed that her copy of the SUV’s keys were in the CABIN on a hook LOL … so we were stranded and dad and his ride back did NOT have a cell phone!!! So we called a locksmith to meet us at the cabin and the parents of another of the runners drove us up there. Just as we got to the cabin to wait for the locksmith Kathleen called – dad had gotten about half way home and stuck his hand inhis pockets to find the keys so they had turned around to come back to return them. So we cancelled the locksmith and returned to the game, got in some more visiting and waited for them to come back. Dad felt so silly – and get this – his ride home – Kathleen’s dad! LOL sounds like the beginning of a bad joke hehe. So we did get it all worked out and Emanuel actually managed to be in a rather good mood – after all everyone kept tellin him he was CUTE and wanting to hold him. He is a HUGE flirt.
The past 5 days have just flown by. Of course we were VERY busy since it was homecoming at Lees-McRae and Kathleen is one busy girl. I do feel much more rested I just wish I could have dad living closer to us. I am such a daddy’s girl. I am just so glad that my dad is so healthy and happy here. Granted we both miss each other but Jamie is so good for him. Of course in a perfect world we would live closer but at least we are both loved and happy where we are and secure in the knowledge that we care for each other.
Once again I do not have any pictures to share – though I have taken TONS. Emanuel has had so many firsts – fireworks, playing in the leaves… now I am just hoping my luck holds out on the two flights home. See some of you after the 12 – I will definately post some pics soon after I get home so be sure to check back!
