South Carolina – So THAT’S where Summer Went!

When I got here I could not believe how WARM it is! Summer is certainly not over – unlike at home the trees are green, dad has roses flowering with 10 buds to go! And I did NOT pack shorts or sandals ARGH!
The flights were not too bad – Emanuel was actually very well behaved though he did get restless. It was actually not that horrible of an experience though I certainly would NOT want to fly with him on a regular basis – but then I would not want to fly period on a regular basis. The second flight was a smaller plane – louder and bumpier… so of course I had a headache and Emanuel slept like a rock – figures.
Today we are off to the mountain and my sister’s school. Should be fun. I have to remember to take a ton of pictures. I forgot my camera in the car at dinner so the only pictures we have of Emanuel in a highchair are on my step-mom’s cell phone. I have to try and remember to get them from her. At least all this warm weather is a lovely excuse to go out and shop a little.
Well… Emanuel is napping on the bed and the folks should be home from their half days at work any minute so I should go and double check my packing for the weekend and debate what shirt I should put on Emanuel. When you deal with infants there really is NO packing light LOL
Sorry no picture attatched today. But there will be a ton when I get back!

Packed My Bags and Ready to Go!

New month and finally tomorrow Emanuel and I leave for South Carolina. I think once I get on that first plane I will be ALOT less nervous. Right now there are so many things to worry about – customs, the metal detectors (I have to put Emanuel’s stroller on the belt – fun fun), getting help when I need it and then the big unknown – how is Emanuel going to deal with flying?
I called the airline yesterday to confirm my flights and ask my final questions. I asked about getting help with my luggage as I have to juggle baby AND luggage and the woman I talked to said that it would depend on the number of staff available … ugh. So hopefully I can figure out a way to do this with the least amount of stress. Although I am glad to be going a part of me wishes Ken could come too. I am just going to hope for the best. After all Emanuel is a very sweet little man and he may just be very excited to be in a new place and be a little angel.
I do wish the twins were able to talk so we could talk about my going away for so long. I have to say goodbye tonight since Ken takes us to the airport at 5am. They are going to be spoiled rotten though – not only my mom but Ken’s folks are all going to be here just for them!
Ken and I packed last night and I am still not so sure that I should not be taking a larger suitcase to give me more space to take stuff back… he says the two I have have more than enough room but I am big on space so I may just have to do some re-packing… It is amazing how much space Emanuel’s stuff takes!
I hope to get online to add an entry here and there but no promises. See you all back in Canada on the 12th!

Leaving on a Jet Plane…

"cuz I’m Leaving on a jet plane, don’t know when I’ll be back again.." ok so I know when I am getting back – the 12th, but the count is on – 4 more days! Excitement tinged with a little nervousness. I love Chantal Kreviazuk… she and Natalie Imbruglia were my Evercrack cds back in the "good ol’ days"… flashbacks to a simpler time LOL
Well brief tonight – we went out to where my mom was camping in the evening and hung out til 9pm so I am worn out and smelling mildly of wood smoke. So off to bed for me.
