TV’s, Movies and Exhaustion

Our new 32 inch wide screen tv made it home today. Apparently it had gotten into town on the 18th but the Purelator delivery guy is often lazy and does not make much of an effort. I know I am home ALL DAY so there is no way he could have missed me. As well today a package came from the Novaks in Minnesota. Ken is planning on mailing off our UK package (I hope) as well as Cory’s package, I am not sure what we are going to do about the Novak’s as I do not have a box they will fit in right now.
Gavin is still sick today… runny pooh – fun fun but by the end of the night mom said he was better – they refused to nap this afternoon and were little beasts. I was so glad to drop them off at mom’s and get some time out with Ken and Emanuel. We even spoiled ourselves and brought home KFC!
Ken is at work again tonight and I am WAY tired. I got the groceries put away and some more of the livingroom put back in order from bringing in the new tv. We rented Monster House and watched that tonight to break in the tv. It was actually a really good movie – not something I would let the kids watch but I would definately concider buying it for Ken and myself.
I still have Worst Jobs in History episodes to watch with Ken. We caught some on the history channel. I love that show and would love to buy the seasons for the boys for when they are older. And for us to watch over and over to be honest… but wow am I tired and Emanuel finally seems to be out good for the night and twins were exhausted and did not even put up a fight when Ken got them home – too bad they were horrid little monsters all afternoon without the nap. It is like you either get cranky kids in the afternoon and an easy bedtime or wonderful boys during the day and a difficult bedtime.
Christmas is fast approaching – tell me where has the time gone???

The Tuesday Before Christmas…

Last night was definately a rough one, Gavin ended up throwing up a couple times (after 1 am of course) which of course made both him AND Zander cry which in turn woke up the baby. Luckily Ken was home so while he cleaned up the cribs I rocked Emanuel who went back to sleep easily. Though when Gavin threw up a little again he woke up the baby again… still an easy rock back to sleep.
This morning Gavin woke up with a bit of a fever and rather tired with no appetite. Zander seems to be ok for now but Emanuel… well runny nose and cranky to boot. All day he just could not seem to sleep for very long. This evening we had some problems getting him relaxed enough to sleep, we finally had to give him a bath. Poor little man he so hates having his nose cleaned out and WOW did he ever need it. It is like fighting a little tornado. I did put the twins to bed with their water, of course the one that should be drinking it (Gavin) is not and Zander is going nuts. Tomorrow when I do not let them take the cups to bed is going to be a little rough though they are smart enough to understand that they cannot always have everything they want. They just really do not want to give in.
We got out Christmas package from the UK today… boy do I feel bad, I have not sent out Cheryl and Sime’s in return. Ken wants to wait until we get a few more bills paid before we send off the last 3 packages – the one to the UK and 2 to Minnesota. Oh well late or not they will get there. Tomorrow the tv is supposed to get here and Dad’s package from South Carolina is to get here on Friday. Apparently there is something in plastic wrap that I am to open right away… hmmm I am curious but really have NO idea!
We have to get our Christmas fixings tomorrow as well as groceries for the next few nights. Ken only gets Christmas Day off and is taking Boxing Day since we are going to my mom’s. We are planning on staying home for New Years so feel free to come see us. It is easier on the boys if we stay home and well… cheaper!
Hmmm today was rather quiet except for the post and the sick kids. We did miss the twins’ speech yesterday – with all 3 kids sick it slipped my mind. Ken needs to call them and see when our next session will be. Whenever the kids get sick it seems like everything goes by the wayside. I am really hoping we are all well for Christmas.
Ken needs to pick up our photos from the church tomorrow. He forgot about it today. I can’t wait to see the finished photos!

Choir Concert and a Lasagne Dinner

We made it to the Christmas Choir Concert at the church tonight. Alan, Xinny and Isabella came to. The twins did really well and did not go to the nursery until it was over half over! Sadly since it was not being televised on the local cable channel they could not watch it in there but the kids (Isabella went too) had a blast with the toys and we made it back to hear the percussion piece at offering before we left to go to our homes.
The lasagne dinner went well. Alan and Xinny brought meat and cheese platters and crackers and some salads. We all ate too much I think. They forgot their presents for us but we had them open theirs while the twins napped to avoid hurt feelings and I think they liked what we got them. It was a rather nice visit. Ken and Alan got our tv stands switched, we used to have the tv on a little bookshelf, we switched that with the stand we bought from Ikea years ago that is a lower one (the boys had a toy on it) so that it is ready for the new tv. It is supposed to get here Wednesday! Now we have to think about re-arranging the livingroom though. So I am guessing Ken is going to have one of his guy friends come over and help move the couch cuz I sure am NOT going to.
It is now ONE WEEK unti Christmas. Ken still needs to pick up Cory’s gift and we need to finish up mom’s but we are basically done. Ken is mailing one package tomorrow but the other two are in need of boxes. I have to figure out what all we are eating for dinner Christmas Day… I do have the ham though. Not sure what Ken will want with it. I certainly do NOT want to be shopping after Wednesday even just for food at Superstore.
Ken’s foot seems to be better – his toe that was cut is VERY bruised and of course he is clumsy today and keeps running into things, but we don’t think it is broken. So back to work on Tuesday. Thank goodness he is ok.
Well, there are meals to be planned and a shopping list to be made – on a very happy note, with some help from Ken’s folks and this night job it looks like we will start 2007 caught up on our bills!!! YAY. What a wieght off our shoulders!
