Happy Day of appreciation for all the motherly figures in our lives… mothers, god mothers, grandmothers, aunties, step mothers.. the list continues! Just a momentary break in my catch up to say… THANK YOU. If not for all of your our lives would not be so vibrant and rich… loving and kind. I promise to catch up the blog soon but for now! Be sure to honour the strong and amazing women in your life… and not just today but EVERY day.

Hypsilophodon
I am jumping line for this one… our book Dinosaur Hunt by Karen Carr mentioned this dinosaur as ALSO being found in Texas and as we are currently learning about Texas… well we reintroduced this herbivore so enjoy our jump forward!
Emanuel has requested NO MORE Cretaceous period dinosaurs… but today was not the day for that… The Hypsilophodon has a horny beak with cheek teeth and ran on two legs. It was a fast dinosaur that sustained itself with plants and was found in the woodlands of Europe. At first it was believed that it was found up in the trees but this has since been disproved. We had TWO videos… first a “Spore” video by Cainori.
Our second video is a gorgeous speed painting piece by Michele the Sea

Happy Easter

Happy Happy Easter!
Christ is Risen! He is Risen indeed! Hallelujah!
We started Easter with dressing EVERYONE up for Easter 2014 pictures. Trinity and Echo wore MATCHING dresses… too cute! The boys their Aunty Holly shirts. Not a bad looking crew, if I do say so myself!
We also had our Gammie/Mommy/Daddy/Easter Bunny baskets to open and rummage through.
After the family photo op we headed off to church for Easter Sunday service… a bit of a challenge but we had a good time. Echo and Ken snuck out to spend time in the nursery and make new friends. I worked with the twins on reading hymns and seeing the changes in the music written on the page.
When we got home the cousins were already there so it was right into the Easter baskets. The 7 of them were crazy happy to jump in and get those presents opened!
After gifts Aunty Judy, Uncle Jim and cousins Robbie and Jessica got here and the kids ran wild until dinner.
We had one of the most delicious hams ever. It was a GREAT Easter.
I hope everyone else had as lovely and family filled day as we did!!! Happy Easter 2014!
