Starting the Week at The Mall

For the first time in over a month the whole family headed out to The Mall for a bit of shopping. For starters we now are set for at least a few months with dress shoes for Trinity. For only 8.00 she has some very sweet little shoes that should match most if not all of her fancy outfits. I did the little survey online to get in the draw for 100.00 to spend at H&M as well. (I have yet to win a single of those sorts of draws but am holding out hope that SOMEDAY I might)

Flowers and Strawberries

Next stop, Old Navy… while I do not like much of their current line, way back in a corner of the infant section there was a clearance rack of maternity clothes. I lucked out with a lovely blue jean like material skirt. Under 20.00 when it normally goes for 25.00. So now I have TWO skirts to wear in the summer, which hopefully will be enough for the season. It is hard to justify buying more new clothes for a 4 month period of time and that is it.

Next store is a favourite of mine – The Body Shop! My main cosmetic – the concealer stick had run out so I wanted to replace it before the May 1st wedding. At only 11.00 it was almost 10.00 less than I had budgeted so I picked up a brand new relatively neutral lipstick to wear to the same occasion.

From one of my favourite stores

I have to admit this trip was a bit of a spoil Lisa sort of trip but the boys had fun looking at the fish outside of the Chinese grocery… and of course we had lunch at the largest food court. The family favourite is Arby’s burgers – at 1.00 or so a piece a definitely AFFORDABLE way for each kid to have a sandwich.

The twins worked on their time worksheets again, this time we read the story included in the file and then answered questions about it. I found a worksheet from another source where they have the time written with the clock with a face AND just numbers to show them the same time in two different ways. Tomorrow we will work our way through the hours in a couple different forms and start work on a FIREFIGHTER lapbook! One of the moms in a local egroup has set up a fire-station field-trip for kids 5 and older. So I signed Ken and the twins up last night and now we are going to do some preliminary work before the trip and follow up with whatever the field-trip stressed.

Yet again I cannot show any images of the current project… but I CAN tell you that it is already taking shape. I have started with what is the equivalent of blackwork and then will do the colour (somewhat subtle) and finish with the characters and the text. I am still waffling on the little saying to put on it but am narrowing it down. Always the hardest part.

So definitely a GREAT start to the week! The rest of the week looks basically like it will be at home – except my Friday afternoon ultrasound!
