Fevers, Shopping and Life in the Home

We finally gave the boys the last of their gifts – what was originally TWO aquatic African frogs (until we got home Christmas Eve to find… one …. moving) is now ONE but it is healthy and I guess as happy as a frog can be. The kids are excited. We circled the Tuesdays and Fridays on our calendar so we all know when it is to be fed and, for now, it is in pride of place on top of the school drawers. We may have to find a higher up place for the poor thing, but we will take it one day at a time. I do think I figured out our bad luck with the second frog – Ken DID pick out which ones we bought… he is not the luckiest when it comes to animals!

Ugly cute?

So our conservatory plans were once again thwarted today… last night Miss Trinity ended up with a fever and had an awful time sleeping last night. But I am determined we will make it out tomorrow. We had to wake her up well after noon, but a bath and a snuggle later and she is basically back to normal. Instead we worked on our math and English workbooks. It is a bit difficult to get the boys motivated what with all the new toys around the house… talk about distractions. It does not help that we have VERY stubborn children, but we are going the gradual route. Tomorrow I am going to start reading the books we found around the house on wolves.

It is so freeing to be able to pack the kids up and go out… granted we are still working out a rhythm with the new old vehicle and its quirks (aka one sliding door and way less cargo room) but we ALL went out to the Superstore to get groceries and some special items. To further along the potty training with Trinity we picked up a DORA potty seat (sadly there were no other “girly” brands) and for the boys – new underwear to replace the ones they are quickly out growing. Each boy has his OWN set this time, to cut down on the confusion.

Underwear in hand! (Gavin left)

The weather today was actually quite nice. Though we are still seeing a substantial amount of snow coming down. If the weather stays this pleasant this weekend I may send the boys out with Ken to sled on the small hill down by our local playgrounds… after church of course. Sunday School starts up again this upcoming Sunday, though I am of two minds as to whether or not the girls and I will go. Trinity is working through this fever so it may be best to keep her home from church to relax and NOT miss her nap.

Now to make it through the rest of the week and end it feeling accomplished.

Asleep can you believe it?
