Stuffed Up and Un-Motivated

…And I thought yesterday was an unmotivated semi disaster! Today I woke up with a scratchy throat and a less than forgiving stomach. Yup, Trinity believes in sharing – EVERYTHING – colds included. So I have spent today in a groggy cold filled haze. Thankfully mild and Trinity is already repairing but now we add Emanuel to the runny nose list and Gavin as a sneezer. All in all a day set up to be rather laid back out of necessity… and then it rained!

As usual we did our letter for the day – P… combined with the computer bit and everyone’s focus was spent.

I decided to have the boys focus on imagination and group play (a fancy way for saying I sent them downstairs together and told them to go crazy with anything they could find in the downstairs toy area) and did they ever! I had to keep Trinity upstairs for the most part since she was still fussy and her nose a mess, but when we came down for a check there was two things for us to admire! One was an airplane built out of Lincoln logs!

The other they very own clubhouse. I am not sure if you can really tell from the pictures but you go in through the Learning House door to where they had the playyard set up (we had one of the panels cracked while in Minnesota but it is still rather stable).  which had a bend in it so you went in and around the corner into the main clubhouse area. I actually crawled in briefly until Trinity had a fit – there was NO WAY she was going in there!! Talk about fun AND limited to no fighting!

We did have one rather big altercation during the morning (before it rained) when the 3 boys were outside. I am not sure what happened but Zander yelled at Emanuel that he HATED him and would for a long time! Well I was not going to stand for that so Zander had to come in and sit in the time out chair in his bedroom while he calmed down. Once he stopped crying I sent him down to Ken’s office to sit. After an extended time of quiet and thought we talked to him about it. I explained that we NEVER tell people we hate them. That it is VERY hurtful and asked him why he said it. From what I can figure he was FRUSTRATED with Emanuel and didn’t know how to express it. We explained to him that next time he felt that way and didn’t know what to say he should come to us and ask us. I think we may have gotten through to him. I just don’t ever want to hear that said again!

Trinity has started singing her very own lalala song. She wanders around the livingroom while she is playing singing to herself – no words but so absolutely adorable (I took video of course). She is really becoming vocal to the point where she said chee today when we took the P picture!

My cooking really just didn’t happen today… no energy so TOMORROW I have to do cookies, at least a loaf of bread and some more apple leather. Gotta love how one or two days can just totally back log you! I am determined to catch up tomorrow as Saturday morning we have to head to Michaels for the free activity and then H&W for our weekly produce. We also redid our rock candy – we read online to put it in the cupboard as light can hinder and to let you string or rod dry overnight after you wet it and roll it in sugar. So fingers crossed this reboiled attempt works better! Ken is determined to figure it out and I am canvassing my groups for other candy ideas!

In the mail today was a terrific deal from Rogers (our cell phone company – we have our phones back by the way – too expensive to buy out of the remainder of our contracts!) and Today’s Parent. The magazine for 1.00 a month plus gst! So I splurged and got it… I have gotten the odd free issue and been very impressed. I think I am also to get a free gift too, but not exactly sure. The cheapest way to get it was to have it added to our cell bill. Talk about convenient and equally as convenient to cancel!

Because Trinity’s nap was short I was unable to sneak one in myself… this meant more time for stitching while we snuggled and watched tv. So the stocking is really starting to near completion. I have done some more outlining and stayed away from the blending filament so far. Ken is hoping to get our next self designed pattern up and running for me. This morning we sent off a pattern made from a specific image to a friend of mine in the UK. Once she has stitched it I hope to post an image along with the pattern!!!

I have started a new and interesting book today. This is one mom suggested about how to deal with prickly or difficult people. It is so cute and interesting! I will definitely write a little review when I finish it!

Definitely not the most exciting or productive day but tomorrow is a new one and the kids SHOULD be feeling better – and hopefully myself as well!
