Snow Snow Snow Snow!

So today brought a new frustration… my Advent partner has NOT received her package… grrr… Ken sent it back in the beginning of November priority WITH insurance and tracking. So thank goodness we are neurotic about the receipt keeping and Ken is able to hunt the package down tomorrow when he is out at the postal outlet.  Apparently she  tried to contact the moderator in charge earlier this week but had her emails bounce (I did too actually) and then messaged the group so I messaged her privately to assure you we will kick bums and take names. I am starting to get a little worried about posting Aidan’s stocking – which I REALLY need to do soon… or one of my dear friends in the UK Michaella and the stitches I have made up especially for her. Last year was a gong show of errors with the shipping…

So the boys spent quite a bit of time in the afternoon OUTSIDE! Yes, winter is finally making its mark on December. Slow in coming but it REALLY seems to be here to stay (that is one of the reasons Ken is going TOMORROW to look into the postage issue – the roads are not the best today and there is a winter storm warning). So much snow and then wind had Ken out shovelling 3 times today! Trinity has not gotten her chance yet as the wind was a bit too much, but once it settles outside we will have to bundle her up and let her get a good taste of winter fun. I have to drag out the little toddler/infant toboggan and take her for a walk.

We put our 4th beaded object onto our Advent calendar – this time it was Zander’s turn. We ran out of colouring time to do their Advent colouring page so tomorrow the boys get to do TWO pages. Instead of a story this week Ken is planning on doing HIS story next week and then a day or so later I will  get to do MY story. I think he is toying with The Night Before Christmas… I am doing the Gingerbread Man.

My sewing has been full of completions today – first off the Harley Davidson piece – DONE! Ken added flames to the traditional skull after wrestling with the words just did not work the way we envisioned. I am quite proud of the result. It is clean and has that Harley Davidson feel!

Second finish is another one I am excited about – the second version of Chibi Dragon, in green. I plan on posting BOTH colour variations with this pattern for purchase (pink and green). I am not sure exactly WHAT will be our next Chibi BUT I am loving doing them. So of course… suggest what you want to see!!!

We had another cancellation for this weekend – with the snow my cousin Elizabeth is unable to make it into the city to collect her commission. I totally understand and agree with her decision but it would have been nice to have a visit. Hopefully we can figure something out soon as I would love to catch up with her. It is funny. I am the oldest of 5 cousins (my brother and I being the older two) and I am loving getting to know the younger 3 now that we are all adults!

Now that Christmas is rather imminent I am starting to think more and more about family… about how much I love my friends and family. How special everyone has been to me and how much support I really DO have in my life. It is funny how we don’t always recall that… I think I may make that a resolution for the next year – to work harder at seeing the support instead of the nay sayers. So thank you everyone!
