Not many pictures today of the kids as we spent most of our time today in the van going around doing errands. Of course we STARTED at the library with the final session of our library program. After yesterday having our little corner of Alberta having the second coldest RECORDED temperature (with wind chill) in the WORLD – second only to a spot in Siberia, the librarian was a little surprised any of us made it. 4 kids and their moms this week with songs, rhymes, parachute play, shakers and Trinity’s new favourite – BUBBLES! I made sure I left a glowing review on my comment sheet and plan on enrolling Trinity in another program in the spring.
We managed THE Mall as well and 3 stores in finally went to Old Navy where I found TWO shirts on clearance! Both more of a bohemian style but will look very lovely with a black camisole I already own from last year when I went shopping with Christine. One in white and the other black. I already have a pair of black dress pants OR a lovely grey patterned skirt to wear with.
We made a stop at the Reuse Centre which while it did not have the frames we needed it DID have some fabric, ribbons, etc. that are going to come in so handy along with a brand new stack of cross stitch magazines I zipped through and picked some out of. The kids absolutely love shopping there as they can have what they want… so a set of dominoes (missing one domino) to play with in the basement, a puzzle and a new game came home to live here.
This left me with a bit of time this afternoon to stitch – so back to work on the Santa in anticipation for the pattern Ken is putting the finishing touches on. I am thinking this jolly fellow may even see a few days on the tree this year!
I figure tomorrow will be an in the house sort of day for pretty much everyone but Ken. I think this Wednesday is his last group session before Christmas. Then there is the envelopes to post – well at least some of them (got TWO Christmas cards today!)… but with all our good news we got the past two days I am feeling more confident that it may just get done!
Your Santa looks really cute so far! Stay warm (It’s blustery here, too).
