Muttart and More

I have to admit all the bother of last year is softened a wee bit with the pass we first utilized today. Muttart was amazing! Though we bustled through all but the feature pyramid which was full of seasonal flowers. It was the most open plan anyway so the easiest to let the kids wander and check it out while we did our own enjoying. There was a school there as well but it was relatively easy to avoid the pyramid they were in and when they were in the feature one when we were keep the boys off to the side until they left.

As part of our Spring/Easter schooling we had the boys sit down in front of some of the flowers and draw their own flower pictures. Gavin especially tried to draw what he was seeing. Add to that our two working kids’ cameras (Gavin’s old Cars one that is now Zander’s and Gavin’s newer “real” camera) and we have pictures galore! Though I am not sure if there will be anything salvageable with the Cars camera, it rather depends on you standing still longer than the kids like to. But you never know.

Ken and I tried some posed maternity photos as well. I want to go back later in May and take some more. We were of course a little rushed having to watch Trinity, I also want to go in the afternoon and see how the light is different. I am a little limited when it comes to summer and spring clothing so the shirt was a large (thank you to whoever it was who gave me that particular used shirt) where if I was purchasing it I probably would have bought a medium so the “bulge” showed up less than if could. The pants… ooo I HATE these maternity pants – the majority go up OVER your belly which feels like you can almost TASTE them and I find the longer I wear them the more my body feels compressed, though they DO stay up and look fine.

We are having a bit of a trial getting the replacement pool. Ken HAD found one on Kijiji, emailed and got confirmation to go get it today in the south end and then when he got there… they had sold it to someone else!! So a waste of time and drive. I called ANOTHER add for 5.00 and got confirmation that they have it and tomorrow in the afternoon would be fine, but the person was the son of the poster and did not take any information from me so since it would be a drive north for Ken he is going to call BEFORE he leaves. If this one is a bust we spend the full amount. The kids are dying to get in the pool and it is definitely NOT their fault the last one was broken. It is the last big piece in our backyard summer fun.

So a good and difficult day in some respects. Just glad that the conservatory was such a blast!
