Glucose, Puppy and a Loooong Day

Back safe and sound from my second glucose test with 3 tiny holes in my arm and a nausea that stuck around for the better part of the day. I swear this was a different drink, it was NOT fizzy and made me almost throw up this time! It was a bit frustrating, I fasted and showed up a bit EARLY for my appointment only to have to wait an extra 30 min before they got me started! So that put me done after noon (late for the family, in fact Ken had to wake Trinity from her nap to come and get me after I was all done). I have to say, after the first hour those seats are HORRIBLE! Hard, and such straight backs… The first hour went ok – finished the piece I posted about yesterday… the second hour (after the second poke) for some reason I felt almost weepy and even more nauseous. So here’s hoping this is the end of it!

While I was gone the kids and Ken spent their little over 2 hours at home working on their school work and in Trinity’s case – taking a much needed nap. Of course our gardening is once again postponed – more rain!! The weather is against us right now, but I have high hopes for later this week… the moment we get some consistent sun this family is going to go right out and start planting!

So proud that they were hard at work while I was gone! (Zander left)

I came home to a bit of a surprise… two packages! One from a sweet homeschooling mom – some books for the kids she no longer needed! Talk about great gift – there were TWO dinosaur books… Emanuel was in absolute heaven.

The other package was a surprise to me – I had long ago signed up for a bunch of pregnancy and newborn freebies and today I got a lovely one! Granted from a formula company which I will not be using but still… the bag is GREAT!

Looks so spiffy!

We had visitors today with THEIR newest addition – Chris and Chris with their new puppy – Duke! Very cute and very tiny. The kids were in love instantly. I do believe Duke is along the same breeds as Christine’s Bella. So tiny at only around 10 weeks, the kids and the puppy did very well on their visit. Though we did send the boys into the basement to play after a while… they wore the puppy out!

The girls and their dog!

Seriously a sweet little puppy called... DUKE

Our goddaughter is back home safe and sound. I am able to share now since her father has publically announced their being home, but she had a fever the day after she was born and was taken to the NICU (same as the twins were in!) for a couple days for some antibiotics. No pictures to share from my end yet but I am sure we will see and have some in time. Just happy for them that they are home and resting.

Today’s big excitement (beyond meeting Duke the puppy) for Ken and myself is the opportunity to work on some more artistic maternity photos. It is, for us, a terrific way to embrace this pregnancy and enjoy some special time together while working on our creative side. I think these will once again be relegated to our deviantArt account though. I have to admit it is a bit of a thrill to know that other people find how I look when pregnant as attractive. It is such a special time for me and to know that some of that love and joy shows through in pictures is marvellous.

In honour of the photos I decided to finally break down and contort my way back to “naked toes”… I hate removing nail-polish when I am pregnant but it was getting chipped. Ken is not a huge fan of polish but I find it fun to “girly it up” a bit once in a while and fingernails are just not an option.

Well now to settle the stomach and prepare for the photos…
