Heat…

After all that rain talk about a heat wave! The kids are just clamouring to play outside but midday we HAVE TO come in. My hope is that we will make it out to the legislature soon to enjoy the fountains. Time is just zipping by way too quickly. Next week from Monday to Thursday the twins are in VBS in the mornings, Monday night they have a library program… Friday is Trinity’s yearly appointment (FINALLY) and then BANG back into the weekend which is thankfully clear so far. So I am hoping to make a trip to at least a splash park, maybe visit with someone. But keep it low key. The summer is starting to feel like it is passing me by with all the doctor’s appointments, rushing around and RAIN! I just want to enjoy the end of July and be ready for Baby in August… maybe?

Happy but too busy!

Today was a little slack on the school work side of things, too hot and I was too worn out (actually had breakfast and went BACK to bed for 2 hours just to build up some energy). BUT the boys made do – they went and got out their reusable sticker books and worked on that. I think much of the month of July has been what almost feels like “accidental” learning.

I still want to get their camping lapbook to assembly stage… the boys and Ken finally got the chance to sleep outside in the new tent last night so we can move on to doing our memory pages – where they write or draw something they experienced while out there. Since we do not have a firepit and are out of propane they roasted their marshmallows by our bbq starter which apparently was a HUGE hit (sadly marshmallows are NOT on the approved Lisa food list). They even slept in past 8am!

Tonight the hope is we will make up lost  time and get the upstairs clean. I have done the best I can on my own but I really need Ken to be available to pitch in on the heavy stuff. At least the boys’ rooms are basically presentable! I am not even tackling OUR bedroom until after the party but I do want the main rooms clean and HOPEFULLY the basement at least back to safe. We are currently trying to stow away all the stuff that WAS in Ken’s office so the twins can be moved into the basement but it is slow going.

I did some scrapbooking during my boy free time last night! Among other projects… and of course the heat has melted my brain so ANOTHER late update!! Sorry!!
