Mid Week Already!

So it is looking like our trip to the conservatory is not going to occur before this current pass expires. Ken is swamped with work – apparently people can’t seem to stop touching code; and in touching code, break it! This has created a nice bonus or two (payable later OF COURSE) but at the same time eaten up all of his free time and evenings… and bedtime (I think last night he got two hours of sleep due to a late night/early morning – depending on what coast you live on, email). Thankfully the kids have willingly spent a nice chunk of their day running outside in the backyard getting rid of excess energy. As usual it is Mommy who feels the loss. Of course tomorrow I (and Echo) are going to be busy – as matron of honour at Chris and Chris’ upcoming wedding I am going along with (she) Chris to see the florist, the hairdresser and I think the hall itself. That leaves Ken and the other 4 kids to fend for themselves… should I be afraid?

We finished our zoo trip today with an illustration by each of the twins. Gavin made his Z backwards but otherwise did a lovely picture of Ring Tailed Lemurs – the one in the far right is smaller due to its being further away! Zander drew a tiger and a zebra (though we did not see the zebras, there was construction over there and we couldn’t find where they had been moved to in time).

I have found a page I am getting a lot of my spring printouts from. The DLTK site has been quite helpful with all the variety of spring stuff to print out in colour OR black and white. I love this site as it does break up crafts into ages.

Then the bulk of our schooling time was spent with ABC or Math workbook time. Zander is loving his review book and I am finding that he is trying harder to sound out words as well as print a little more neatly. Gavin is continuing to amaze me with how he can do math IN HIS HEAD! He is adding larger numbers at this point – the teens and such with great ease. We still have a ways to go in his large math book but he is excited about it.

We managed our trial attempt at the rainbow cupcakes with great success. Though we have some colour layer thickness to tweak. And the flavour remained yummy! BONUS! So tomorrow I have 2 dozen cupcakes and two sheet cakes to make, I want everything cooled for Friday. Decorating then and Saturday PARTY!

Yum

It is hard to believe how quickly the time is passing. Of course loosing a lot of last week to illness has not helped.

HUGE smiles
