Happy Mother’s Day

A very Happy Mother’s Day to everyone. We had a rather quiet day as predicted with a few changes. The bus idea was thrown out when Ken did the research on the route and found out that with the Sunday scheduling it would be over 4 hours round trip to get to church. Instead Ken gave it a go with the van. The boys made it to and back in one piece. By the time Ken got home it WAS overheating but they made it. While they went to church we 3 girls enjoyed some at home time… Veggie Tales, dollies and chatting with Sean.

Busy drawing pictures

This morning Zander had 5 pieces of art/cards made specially for me. He was busy this week!

My gifts from Zander

When the boys got home from Sunday school they came with sheets they made for me in class. Emanuel is going to rewrite his name under the sort of written name on his for me  tomorrow. But they are so pretty!

Ken and the boys also stopped off at our favourite manga store and got me the newest in my favourite series – Gintama. I am missing a few before that but we plan on (over time) buying the rest of them.

My Mother's Day gift

Of course a large amount of the kids’ day was spent out in the backyard. Echo and I joined them for some of our traditional Mother’s Day photos. It was a bit bright out for Echo but we managed. I am looking forward to seeing how she handles grass… once we get some green stuff. None of our kids have liked the feel of grass in the beginning. Trinity is still VERY against sand in the shoes right now.

Mommy and her kids

The onesie was a gift from my mom at Echo's baby shower

I had a lovely chat with MY mom this morning before the kids and Ken left for church. She and I also had a looong discussion last night about our family history. Well her side of my family. So I have written out all of her sides’ history and this evening had a lovely conversation and catch up with my dad. Ken still needs to call his folks back after they have had some time to think about things and write down what THEY remember. At first I thought it was odd that they would add on the cover letter that if you have not responded in THREE months the file will be closed but even with our past looking into family history when I was pregnant with the twins we are having to do some research as well. I doubt it will take us all that long – I do NOT want to move with this letter unsent BUT there is no way I am going to be able to mail this tomorrow morning like I thought originally.

I had a lengthy afternoon nap myself. I started off playing on Trinity’s wool rug with her and the next  thing I knew I was alone on the floor under her favourite blanket. We did have some fun playing kitchen before I fell asleep. I guess she left me to join the boys outside.

Now for an evening of cross stitching, watching of tv (Black Adder) and general hanging out and relaxing. Ken says I am not to do any housework. (and trust me that is hard to NOT do)
