Midweek and Still Lots to Do!

One of the additional perks to living in this city is our proximity to Fat Sheep‘s home (Karyn’s house), in fact right now she is residing with us for a while. Last night (as friends) we snuggled down for one last espisode of Season 3 of Murder She Wrote, only for myself to fall asleep and miss the thrilling climax using Fat Sheep as a pillow (sorry no pictures). A clear indication that I had stayed up past when I should have unpacking and arranging and really should have gone downstairs to bed. But she makes such a lovely pillow! One simply cannot resist.

She is just so snuggly!

Another rainy and overcast day today… to save on sanity we sent out the kids to play… sadly the twins’ rubberboots are too small so they had to go it in sandals but they had fun for a brief period of time. It did burn off some energy and create a minor mess so all in all a good thing, at least for the kids.

Rainy day outside play

Operation compact boxes has been a success… now to face the crazy that is the buckets and boxes in the basement to drag the ones in the wrong place upstairs. Unlabelled buckets are calling to me downstairs… screaming really… the hope is that I can empty some of those out and take stuff from cardboard boxes that go right into storage. Cardboard boxes make me nervous, always have since back in 2004/2005 when we had a sewage backup in our rental’s basement. We did have to throw out quite a few items. Luckily not things that we irreplaceable or honestly needed. But you certainly do learn your lesson!

I also had a minor victory in the way of finding my missing bra!! Thank goodness. This also meant finding the last of the dirty laundry from the old house which went right into the washer. All of the special blankets made by their Nana should be accounted for and clean now… The next big hurdle – where to put all these blankets! I think I am one shelf unit away from that solution (it is downstairs and the closet to put it in upstairs). I have the nasty suspicion that I am going to run out of shelves before I run out of things to put on them.

We got an email update from Mom and Mike, their itinerary is a little bit out the window and they are traversing some of the most northern states in the US on their way to Ontario. It sounds like they are having a blast. I got notification from FedEx that my package is ready and waiting in the city so that was solved although now we have to take the whole family back to the city before Wednesday. Ken is working on lining up a playdate with the den Otters so we don’t have to be at the old place while Ken does the final cleaning (a recipe for disaster).

Fydo came over to see the place now that we have our things in it and have a bit of a visit. His wife Kristen is home sick with an ear infection (we are looking forward to her being well enough to come visit in the near future!). I am still adjusting to the reversal – it is now EASY to see Fydo and Kristen and HARDER to see Ted or Sean!

Adjusting the couch

Oh – major excitement around Echo today – she was standing by the block box using it to help her stand and LET GO and STOOD ON HER OWN! Very briefly but YAY!

Going to try for a better picture tomorrow

So my  tv is plugged in now, not working with Shaw but Ken will resolve that tonight or tomorrow morning, that leaves Murder She Wrote Season 1 (which I finally found) to be watched and of course boxes to sift through… So back to work I go!
