PG Wodehouse, a Book Review

If you enjoy Jeeves and Wooster (and honestly, I am a HUGE fan of the Fry and Laurie version from the BBC) then I would suggest you try out another by this wonderful author called A Damsel in Distress… There is the usual chaotic feel of the British countryside… the forbidden love, the older gentleman and the young dandies…

In fine Wodehouse tradition there is chaos and romance and silly escapades, but in the end… it is all sorted out. I found that this story was a wonderful light and easy read to enjoy over a series of quiet afternoons. I love the era he bases his stories in… this one was published in 1919… that lovely pre-war era of the lazy upper class and the servants that knew ALL their business. Seriously I do not want to divulge too much but I really loved this book and am now primed to find MORE by Wodehouse to read in my moments of lighthearted leisure!
