A Family Affair… a Book Review

What would you do if your father died on a trip only to bring to light a second family he had been visiting once a month for years? What happens when you go to face the other woman only to find a daughter, a sister… ? Mary Campisi delves into this conundrum with characters as flawed as anyone else and families as confused and messed up as can be.

This romance deals with loss, love, hatred, betrayal but also forgiveness, growth and so much more. There are moments of crass language and love in some but not horrible detail. There are lovers and people with secrets and the people around them who are affected as well. The main focus is on Christine Blacksworth and her journey as she discovers the secrets her family has held and faces the demons that come with finding the answers.

I love it when a story draws you in and surprises you with the depth of the characters emotions, their love and hate, how the two end up hand in hand and then their redemption, forgiveness and healing. I don’t want to give away too many of the twists but rather share with you the wonder that is a book with a full story, characters you can love and hate and a love you can root for! If you want to join Christine with her hunt for the truth and for a new direction in her life… A Family Affair by Mary Campisi is the read for you!
