The Teacher’s Billionaire…

Sometimes secrets are best left as such… at least that is how young schoolteacher Callie felt after learning the secret her mother took with her to the grave. Thanks to the interference of a well meaning family friend she must now face facts… her father is presidential candidate Warren Sherbrooke. And so begins The Teacher’s Billionaire, book 1 of The Sherbrookes of Newport series by Christina Tetreault.

This contemporary romance uses an unknown father come to light to bring two hurting people together. Callie is grieving the loss of her beloved mother and Dylan, the stepson of Warren Sherbrooke is still burned by a previous engagement. With the presidential race ongoing Callie must decide how much of the public eye she wants focused on her and how she truly feels finding she has a whole other family whose lives were far removed from her own.

Told to figure out Callie and limit the damage her appearance could cause Dylan is attracted to his new stepsister immediately… where they go from there is the crux of the story.

The Teacher’s Billionaire DOES allude to sexual content but fades to black in the most crucial and personal moments. I like this about the story. Callie is a reasonable and grounded person with her own baggage and beliefs. She is not an instant swoon and has more than her fair share of introspective moments. We also get to see into Dylan’s thoughts and feelings as they progress in their time together. The other siblings (half to each) are barely touched upon, but the second book in the series covers the younger brother so I assume in time the sister could have her book as well.

If you are looking for a light, contemporary romance with a touch of political this could be it for you. Christina Tetreault does a wonderful job with her characters and the pace of the story is light and fun. I am definitely interested in book #2!
