Off In LaLa Land

I blame a well written fanfiction, a busy day of appointments and the joys of raising two very active boys… Ok so mainly the fanfiction has delayed my updating this blog… But it has been a while since I have found an epic style COMPLETE (very important) story online and since my novel I ordered from Indigo.ca of short regency Christmas stories just got here today I have had nothing else to read… What can I say I am a sucker for romance in almost any form and back deep into my anime addiction…so beyond my addictions…
We managed to make it to all our appointments without too many meltdowns though with the lack of a nap for the twins and Emanuel only getting 30 min in his crib when we came home for a brief lunch the crew was rather cranky. Emanuel’s boosters went rather well – he really did not cry hard at all and not until the second shot that "stings a little."  Apparently he is growing nicely and progressing perfectly – what a relief. So we are to keep on as we have been. After lunch was his 18 month check up with the pediatrician – a lovely lady covering for our normal doctor who managed to get Emanuel nice and calm with little or no effort. She did find something interesting – apparently he has a minor heart murmur that the doctor is not worried about – just a noise of blood moving in the arteries I guess, but good to know. We are to keep on with healthy foods, not feel bad about refusing juice and try and limit his tv watching a little more – he is my tv bug. So instead today I have been playing cds and it seems to be working well – that and we brought out some of the toys they have not played with in ages… though of course that has lead to arguments – but then what is life without a little conflict – ummm relaxing ???
After that we went across the hallway for the twins’ speech assessments – well those went tolerably well though Gavin was not really interested in talking and he and I got bored with all the pointing at things. They did amaze me at things they knew – like whose hair was longer, certain objects they knew words for… a good surprise to be sure. We have talked it over and decided not to even apply for the special preschool since we want to move and they are really not ready – but if the results confirm a need continue with the speech therapy. I am planning on contacting the church today or tomorrow about sunday school too. Even if we move soon in at least they get the fun of it.
Emanuel’s haircut went well – quickly. He really doesn’t look like a baby anymore. The hairdresser was in love with him and he sat like a dream. She didn’t even charge us since we do come back there often. He stil has some curl and looks a lot more clean cut. I remembered to save some curls for his baby book and now need to get together all the stuff I need for his scrapbook page. I also picked up the pictures for Madison’s card so once I get a spare moment and the necklace done I will get that gift all done up. So much to do and so little time and clean space to do it in!
