Mid Week!

Mid week already – where has the time gone? Another less than stellar day “getting it done” wise BUT the kids have had fun… Lego in the basement, time with Emanuel and his new toy (honestly that bird chirps LOUDLY)… naps in the afternoon for the two little ones (wait that was fun for ME)…

The Birdy

My livingroom is finally a point of pride, except for my sewing table which is a jumble as usual. I have my rocking chair where I want it, the baby bouncer is cleaned and reassembled and the toys basically sorted and put away. That is a rather major accomplishment for one of our most lived in rooms. Now if I could just get Ken to put his laundry away in a  timely manner like the REST of the house does… (I am still getting used to having the twins’ clothing downstairs and asking them to bring up their pjs and clean undies BEFORE they get in the tub)

I managed a scrapbook page for Emanuel’s book that I just happened to have the pictures laying around here in the house. When I did my choosing off the cds I was pleasantly surprised to see that the images I wanted were the ones I had chosen way back when to print out anyway. It is surprising how sometimes tastes DON’T change. It has been fun to do up pages without pictures and have to imagine the finished result but a completed page every so often feels even better.

My next more minor project is for Trinity’s new room, I am trying to figure out how I want to do up an 8X10 page to put in a frame I already have to fill in some dead space in her room and help absorb some more of the noise in there. With the options available due to Karyn’s loaned Cricut I am thinking I can do something rather cute up for her. I am debating how to let the twins decorate THEIR room. Originally I was thinking of taping up some brown paper on the walls, giving them crayons and saying GO FOR IT… but their room is covered in vertical wood panelling. Not exactly conducive to the use of crayons without tearing. The other option is to tape it up somewhere else, have them decorate and then move it… or just put it on the floor in their room, have them be creative and THEN tape it up. I just want them to have the opportunity to decorate their own space. Once I unearth it, I am planning on adding the bedside table I had in the quiet room (now storage for the nonce) with their two IKEA chairs and making them a little reading corner for when they can’t sleep.

Fresh fruit from the produce store was the afternoon snack of choice! This has not been as great a year for apple sales so I am depending on the tree to produce, but finally today there were BC peaches and strawberries at a dollar a package. I am still hoping to fill the freezer with applesauce as much as possible. It makes for great additions to meals and baking over the winter months. Along with all the frozen raspberries.

Mmm strawberries

Tonight was Gavin’s night to have some time with Daddy one on one. Though he ALMOST lost it for whining off and on all day about WHEN he would get this time. Tomorrow it is Zander’s turn – if he doesn’t act out too much.

Tomorrow is my doctor’s appointment, we shall see what the doctor says… in the afternoon!
