Legoland Continues

The past few days have  been physically exhausting ones for me. Sunday morning I woke up with the muscles in the left side of my neck just aching – a relatively restless night with Echo to blame. It is not until today that I feel better. Add to that cluster feeding last night and a fussy little girl this morning after a VERY busy weekend and I am a bit sleep deprived. Poor little one goes for her booster shots tomorrow too!!! Yikes!

Newly dubbed "Little Tyrant" by Grandma Anna

So the plan for today went from a HALF a day of fun with Legos to a full day with my needing to rest up a little longer. The end result is a nice little town including a boat, firestation and water feature. Sadly some of the original pieces were taken apart by the boys this morning before we got through to them that we have TONS of the different Lego pieces and it was NOT necessary to dismantle. With Nathan kindly agreeing to watch the bigger ones so we can get to Public Health in the morning (van part is on its way from Ontario or Manitoba as I type!!) I am assuming the fun with Legos will continue.

Quite the mess! (Gavin)

That is not to say NO ONE worked on their workbooks – Gavin got in 3 pages of phonics work. I have found that he needs further work on recognizing long and short vowel sounds. He is fine with consonants it is the vowels that throw him for a loop. So to supplement his workbook I am going to search out some other worksheets to further it along. But I am VERY happy with his wish to work on such a hard thing. He was willing to do another page after I said he could call it quits.

I am really looking forward to a little shopping and dinner out with Ken on Thursday night. We won’t have a lot of shopping hours but enough to get us out and together with only our baby for company. Something I think we REALLY need for the mental well being of the both of us. It is hard to always be around the kids and each other like we have been since the van has gone in for repairs.

So we are firmly into November and my mind is still reeling at how quickly time has passed us by! I feel out of my depth in regards to Christmas and am hoping to keep the budget low and still get each of the kids something memorable. I found a cradle my grandma made me when I was little in the basement, the plan is to clean it up and give it to Trinity for Christmas to have as her own! Echo is my unknown… I have never had such a small baby at Christmas time!!!

Well not much else to recount. Hopefully the rest of the week will be full of adventures for our little family!! Or at least some housework and educational fun!

  1. Yay Legos!!!! I’m so glad to see my Lego collection being used for such creativity. 🙂

  2. Isn’t it amazing!! Once I got them away from the “I need instructions” phase we have seen WAY better use of imagination! And a much more dangerous livingroom… Lego day has been stretched to Lego WEEK!!!
