Surviving the First Set of Shots

We have survived the first of 3 sets of booster shots for Baby Echo. I HATE going to Public  Health for these appointments. Usually we have all of the kids and it is packed and then there is the actual needle experience itself that is so not fun. BUT this time we lucked out, a morning appointment meant Nathan could come and watch the boys for us while we took Trinity and Echo. For some reason Public Health was  not very busy and we managed a pretty short appointment – after all we have FIVE kids this is old hat for us.

Miss Echo is right on the chart – low percentile but curving nicely with her 9lbs 6 1/4oz. weight, 21 1/4inch height and her tiny little 36.8 cm head. She is perfectly tiny in perfect proportion. We had a cocktail of 3 different vaccinations – two needles in her left leg and one in her right. She was FAR from impressed of course having DADDY hold her during the experience increased her negative response but I have a hard time holding the kids down for that. Our next appointment is set for late December with Emanuel also getting his preschool/kindergarten age shot.

The Little Tyrant and her Lady in Waiting

Our Lego days has morphed into a Lego WEEK so while Ken and I and the girls were gone the boys continued their creating. The most fanciful and detailed piece of the day was done by Gavin – a castle!

Castle!

Zander was finally able to get his stitches out! We were concerned about the skin growing over them. He was a total trooper, now we just keep it clean and watch the healing!

Healing up

My goals for tonight includes making more korker ribbons, maybe sorting some paper for scrapbook pages I had ordered pictures for and being our resident Little Tyrant’s minion. I am hoping to find some time tomorrow to help the twins write a little story about their Halloween experience… AFTER they head outside to collect all their toys and put them away in the garage before it snows again. Now if we could just get the basement sorted!!!

With her lovely smile
