Not the Most Action Packed Saturday of My Career By Far

I think that my days and nights are now almost completely topsy turvy. Last night Echo did sleep BETTER… but during the time I was UP, early in the evening when I was finally able to get things done. And then, well Ken “helped matters along” by introducing me to a new series – Haven, which we watched 3 episodes of, taking breaks to breastfeed and settle Echo back down periodically. Now not only was I up way past when I wanted to be but I am also hooked on another tv show! So Ken got some sleep and I stayed up with the baby… granted she is better, her phlegm sounds loosened, she is sleeping a bit better AND her little voice is less hoarse. This evening Trinity and I even got some lovely smiles out of our littlest Reinsch-Johnson. I shudder to think how this cold has affected our push to pack on the ounces BUT we have kept on with copious breastfeeding and little meals of rice cereal as often as she likes. We had to table the banana for now as it seems to be too sweet for her tummy and has caused some throwing up. I have great hopes on having a MOSTLY healthy family by Thursday’s doctor appointment but it is looking more and more like Ken will have to take the girls solo as we are not sure we want to expose the whole family to a waiting room so soon after such a major cold.

Napping Echo

The kids are still in nasty moods due to this long term cold. The coughing is finally decreasing but no one is 100% yet. Last year we were rarely sick, this year… well the past 2 months have been a bit rough. As soon as everyone IS healthy we will have to get some use out of all of this snow: snowmen, angels, maybe a fort…

So much snow

It was a movie and cartoon sort of day for the 4 bigger kids. So not much go accomplished… and early bedtime. Though we did get a nice picture drawn by Gavin – same theme as the previous – Grandpa Mike on his bike… this time driving during a sunrise.

A new piece by Gavin

Now if we can get the boys to Sunday School tomorrow, the Christmas tree taken down AND the gold painted on our Chinese fire crackers I will feel accomplished tomorrow.
