Ending the Week With a Doctor’s Appointment that ACTUALLY HAPPENED!

Well for the first time in ages Echo had her appointment for something GO THROUGH. Ken took her this morning to her 6 month (granted she is now SEVEN months) appointment. He was very impressed with her… she is right on track with everything… BUT her weight. So we are to go back in 2 months and in the meantime put fortifier in with her solid foods. I would rather not have her on formula, the addition of a bottle tends to confuse when it comes to breastfeeding so this is a great compromise.

With Kitty

Today was our final day of Math Week. So we were back to our work books AND learning new dice games. While Ken was gone I taught the boys What’s Your Number? which they in turn taught Emanuel. That has been one of the more unexpected successes – the boys have been brilliant about playing these dice games together and teaching their younger sibling as well as their Daddy!

Love those counting blocks

Zander finished his second bear, stitched by hand! This one is to be sent down to the states to keep his god-mommy company apparently! I need to get his mini package out to the post before it becomes a LARGE parcel!!!

With teddy

Last night I finished the Handy Manny themed teddy that Emanuel requested – colours chosen based on the tools. I used a slightly different pattern found here. and am rather happy with the results. Again made out of felt.

Our big adventure in Science is finally under way. The avocado seed from Echo’s avocado has soaked its 48 hours and is now waiting in its water for sunlight and growth. We will see if we got a good seed or a dud, but either way we will have MORE seeds later to try out. The kids are very excited but seem to expect it to grow within days instead of weeks! We followed these instructions. I of course will update periodically!

A start

So there is a minor bit of excitement in the Reinsch-Johnson home, we may have narrowed in on a rental. They want to wait a couple days before they agree to holding the place until the 1st of May. (it is open the first of April but apparently they have not had any other serious enquiries.) So be sure to keep fingers crossed for us, it looks great on the add… but we are not sure if they have a washer/dryer with it (if they don’t buying a decently reliable used one will become imminently important). Something to remain guardedly optimistic about though!!!!
