Completion Day!!

The first of many… I hope! We had found that lately we had WAY too many unfinished projects, so the new plan is to have every Wednesday be a day to GET THINGS DONE! In fact,  this week we have TWO completion days… tomorrow I am hoping to get our Fall lapbook put together, Insect lapbook and maybe even  that pesky bat the boys got started on at Halloween!

The boys actually did rather well today – the big thing was to sort all the worksheets we had been doing into folders so that everyone has their stuff ready to be made into books. Which has cleared up a lot of the frustrating clutter and indicated to me that we DO have lots of fall stuff to put in our books.

The big craft activities to complete were the making of large dice – a print out… AND the making of stained glass leaves… ironing leaves between two pieces of wax paper and then framing them with cardstock. Those are going to go up in the window until we make snowflakes – I am hoping to make it to the nature centre for their special winter activity where they teach all about snowflakes. Problem is December is filling up quickly and so many events tend to be on the SAME day!

The added incentive to completing all of this is that if the boys can keep with it each one gets to choose a lapbook to take and show off to Grandma Anna on Friday! Definitely a treat! They are very excited about heading over to Grandma and Mike’s, to the point where they are trying to talk me into going a day earlier! As it is we plan on leaving soon after Emanuel’s Friday hearing appointment.

I have one completion myself to report – a nice relatively simple piece – the Chinese symbol for love! It, and an absolutely adorable Chibi penguin I am working on right now should be soon up on the pattern site for sale!!

Tonight was the second of Ken’s group sessions. I am so pleased with how he is anticipating the sessions. It looks like they will really be helpful! Getting things off his chest and all that.

So all in all a productive day – I am hoping to get some beads done tonight and our fall tree for the table.  Which is a good indication that I should STOP writing my blog and get on that!
