Weekend Wrap Up

Weekends always seem to end up busy around here – van or not! Lots of company, some shopping and decent weather made it a great weekend.

Our Saturday morning was uneventful – after all we don’t have the van. But the kids managed to get along nicely in the twin’s basement bedroom. Well enough for Ken to allow them a VERY unusual treat – food in the basement bedroom, bananas.

I sold another costume on Kijiji – one of the boys’ previous costumes – a giraffe. Now to get buyers for the rest of my items. I am still not sure where the costumes from LAST year got stowed. Ken (after church today) picked up OUR Kijiji purchase – winter coat, pants and boots for Trinity. The whole thing for only 25.00. So that just leaves the twins without a full set of gear.

What a find!

Saturday afternoon Karyn came by to visit for the afternoon and evening. We did a little shopping at Michaels, picked up a hat her dad forgot at a tea house on their visit to the city and tried to find a shop she had heard about but did not have its own website. We had Echo in tow and it was not until she got home last night at 1:30 am that she realized we had left the stroller in her car! ACK!

She napped for a little bit in the bed for once!

Chris and Chris joined us in the evening. She Chris is here for the week to make it easier for her to get to her practical portion of her schooling. We had meatball subs for dinner and stayed up late just hanging around. Karyn headed back home as she had things to do today.

Teaching Emanuel an iTouch game

Sunday was much more hectic – Sunday School for the kids, and Ken had to run a few errands – the aforementioned snow gear to pick up and our baptism form to collect… he didn’t make the bookstore to get next year’s agenda but with mom’s car Monday night that won’t be a problem for later in the week. The boys are loving class and Emanuel is doing well on his own though it was iffy this morning if he would even get to go as he was acting up when Ken was trying to get everyone ready.

I got the opportunity to head out (with Echo of course) and do a little grocery shopping with Chris (she). We even ran into Nathan, Ada and Anna at Superstore (sorry no pictures). I ALMOST bought Echo little shoes but could not decide between two pairs. I have to figure out something for our family pictures where she is not in her pretty little dress barefoot. Time is ticking by… our appointment should be for the end of October and I am still without her headband let alone footwear.

We have one more night with BOTH Chris’. Sean has been over for the weekend too to play a non internet game and the kids have been over the moon with all the company and excitement. I just wish we could easily take the whole family out AT THE SAME TIME IN THE SAME VEHICLE!

Chris and Echo

Tomorrow the plan is to paint. She Chris had to buy a new pair of shoes for the week and has given us her shoebox – perfect for a diorama… so I will print out the dinosaurs etc for that for the kids to colour and with Ken the background. Of course while I do that they will do some painting of their own. Definitely a messy endeavour. BUT so much fun! On top of that I want to finish the English mini office and get moving on making the name cut outs using the Cricut Karyn has so sweetly let us keep even LONGER to laminate and put on the wall. Oh and the pattern Ken finished for me (I have an hour or two of work left for that)… The big question is – is there enough hours in the day? I certainly hope so!
