Blah

Well, lets start with the good – last night after a rather brutal day of cranky kids in the heat Sharon and Amanda surprised me with a girls’ night out! Dinner and shopping and then over to Sharon’s for a movie! Their treat on the dinner. It was so much fun! I even picked up an outfit at Stitches – a layered look no less! With a penguin on it that looks suspiciously like Tux from Linux. We watched Bedazzled – goodness the library of DVD’s Sharon and Darryl have!! It was a hard choice! We did get our thunderstorm last night too – lots of lightning and wind and rain.
This morning Emanuel let me sleep until 7:45! The twins were just getting up and getting into their toys too at that point. Of course by about 9 their behavior was such that I decided no walk today. At least it is a cooler day and the apartment is rather nice. So we played cars and balls and whatever toy they wanted. Sadly Gavin was in the mood NOT to share so I had to raise my voice a bit and Gavin got sent to the room 2-3 times but Zander and Emanuel – THEY did wonderfully. Lots of sharing and giggles. Not sure what was up with Gavin… hopefully his nap this afternoon will cure his grumpies. Emanuel I kept up until 11:30 – he was so tired he just did not know what to do with himself but at least he should have a nice sleep this afternoon.
I had shared some somewhat exciting information with friends and egroups and got some lovely boosts of confidence, some wonderful constructive criticism and one email where I felt attacked. I tried to answer as best I could all of them and not take it too much to heart but I guess I am overly sensitive… it hurts when even people you do not know perfectly are rough… so now I have to sit down and debate what I want to do. I have to say I am happy and proud to be a Stay at Home Mom, something alot of people don’t agree with. Ken and I both wanted me to stay home, when things got tight here I offered to go look for a job but Ken wanted me to stay home. When it comes to parenting I try to get as much advice as I can and do the best I can with it… the boys are now talking REALLY well – full sentences, new words all the time… granted not perfect but I am proud of how hard we are working on it! Yesterday the hearing people finally contacted me – they are moving offices and changing things, hiring on new people and finally got back to us about Gavin! Hooray and I said Zander too.. so next week in we go! And my mom can go with me BONUS! Emanuel’s boosters are set for August, as is the twins’ speech assessment, Emanuel’s 1 1/2 yr appt and his first hair cut – all on the same day!
One of the criticism is that I am not alleviating Ken’s burden.. I do all his chores now, I try to give him more free time, I make his lunches, these are the things he asked me to do… I am being supportive in the ways HE wants not what the rest of the world looking in thinks I should do…I am not intervening with my twins not talking – I have been doing exactly what our speech therapist said – money is not going to speed things along as this is the program within our health care… but I really am not ignoring it… I complain… yes I do… and from now on I won’t – not there I don’t think (on the egroup). I need to temper how much I share online I think… I honestly was just excited and this place we really are not just jumping in…
Oh well I have some decisions to make… the kids are napping, I am eating and life is going on…

  1. Oh don’t worry about them, they shouldn’t make you upset.  That is why I am quite content with my blog, no egroup for me, as there will always be a chance you’ll disagree with them.
If you have time click the "Laury & Rafly Sparks" link on my blog, they are my twin nephews who turn 13 this September.
So, am I sending those coins to you?
    Take care and enjoy life.
    Tess
